Billy and I doing our Utility pattern. Unfortunately we did get videos of our cow work or our Obstacle course.
We got some really great scores over the weekend with a few little short falls in our marks but that was more rider error then Billy. We have a few things to work on. Billy is turning into a great little horse.

Billy and I thought we'd give this challenge thing ago. What a huge weekend we had at our first competition.
I am so proud of this horse he has come such a long way. He preformed so well this weekend. He scored better then I was expecting, he handled everything extremely well and he is 1 tired fella tonight. We learnt so much this weekend. This video is of our Hack pattern.

After Katie's ride yesterday morning young Tennisha had her 2nd ride on Katie. Tennisha is a novice rider and wants to start helping with the young horses and learn how to start there ridden lives. So it was time for her to learn what it is like to ride a young responsive newly started horse feels like.. ( in a safe and supervised environment) Tennisha did a great job and young Katie handled it very well.
This filly is proving in time and with more training and miles under her she is going to make someone a fantastic horse.
Katie is on the market so if interested head over to triangle horse sales. Lot 11

Rocs N Ice (Katie) due to circumstances out of our control Katie had a few weeks off after her first couple of ride so we could attend to other things.
When she was brought back in I mouthed her to the bit and this is her 2nd ride and 4th ride over all.
Rocs N Ice, 2nd ride.
Walk and trot with a bit of desensitising with a bag of cans and a trap.
Sunday was a proud day for me, as 3 horses that I've started under saddle were out with us on a muster.
This shows how breeding for temperament is so important and making sure you find the right trainer to bring out the best in your horse.
The first horse out the front leading the way is Atti (Norfolk paek Attitude) a mare I started about 5yrs ago when she was around 5 years old. As my partners daughter showed interest in riding 3 years ago we began the search for a safe horse for her to learn to ride on. We got lucky when we found out Atti was available for sale. Nisha and Atti only get to ride together on school holidays as unfortunately she lives too far away but Atti has taken Nisha from a beginner rider to a novice and have now participated in their first muster together. Atti is a pure bred Arabian, the breed of horse that a lot people believe are a hot and mad breed(False). Atti proves that with the Arabian breed it is in fact that it is often the wrong people handling and training them.
The second horse is young Tilly, a chestnut stockhorse mare who is the second last horse in the line. Tilly was started late last year by me, she has made her owner so proud of the young mare they have bred. After having a 3 week spell in the paddock prior to Sunday's muster, Tilly took care of her young beginner rider Cooper like a old horse, Cooper did a fantastic job and enjoyed his first mustering experience. This mare is proving how good a horse you can get when you think about breeding for temperament.
The third horse is a young palomino QH filly Rocs N Ice. This is the horse I was riding as she is just starting her ridden career being only her fifth ride. I had originally only taken her to the muster to look pretty, go for a walk around and do a couple of miles but the cows had other ideas. It was time for her to step up and be a mustering horse, and miles is what she did. She had to get up and get going across the paddock a couple of times to stop the cows from
Introducing Rocs N Ice
She is a 3yr old, palomino QH filly. Just starting her ridden life and will be looking for a new home soon.
First ride for this filly, note she is in a halter.
Part 3 of Tilly's 2nd ride. Playing with the tarp and a bag of cans.
From her first ride she was showing sign of being the great horse she is turning out to be.
Tilly's 2nd ride. In this video we played with the pool noodle and plastic feed bag.
Young Tilly's 2nd ride, she had a slight stumble as she was trotting around (under 2min into video) but good recovery and she stayed calm and didn't panic. It is something that can happen with young horses as they are unbalanced and learning to carry a rider.
Tilly has always been a calm relaxed mare.
Fantastic day out with Tilly and her owners at Northern NSW Equine Challenge Association Inc.
Tilly's little rider TJ had a wonderful day.
Tilly has now gone home and her owners are so pleased.
Looking forward to see Tilly and little TJ grow over the few years.
This mare is a magic horse she is going to have a wonderful future.
More of Tilly's first ride

Billy, 7th August, 12th ride.
Another big day for Billy.
We had to go muster and it was time for Billy to step up and be a big boy, loaded on the truck no worries, first time ridden with other horses, fine around cows. At one stage he had to get out ahead to stop the herd running away over the ridge and into the scrub, when we got back closer to the yards we came across a unwell calf, Billy stepped up and slowly guided him to the yards. What a great horse he is going to be.
Billy, 29th July, 10th ride.
Big day for Billy first big ride out, went up the hill to check the cows.
