Cruiser the Australian Dingo Needs Your Help
Could Cruiser the Dingo, and I, just have a moment of your time? It’s about something that is really quite close to our hearts.
I appreciate that this is a controversial topic in Australia, but I thought if you’re like us, you might also think the use of 1080 poison just isn’t right. Most especially used on our native wildlife like Dingoes. And if you weren’t aware, it’s not just used on Dingoes, but Brush Tail Possums too.
Maybe this is the first time you’ve heard about it, or perhaps you do already know about it, but didn’t know we have a choice to not use it. Perhaps you didn’t know what you could do to change things.
This petition is somewhere we can start and something small and easy we can do.

Small, but the difference it could make to the preservation of our beautiful Australian Dingo could turn out to be so very big. Plus you will have the opportunity to take a stand against 1080 poison.
Australia is among just 6 countries in the world that still legalise 1080 Poison.
The name 1080 comes from being the one thousand and eightieth chemical studied by scientists who were making poison to kill rats and other rodents during World War 2.
It is one of the most toxic substances known to exist in the world. There is no known antidote. It is a white, odourless and tasteless poison that is considered a chemical of security concern by the Federal Australian government. It is in the same restricted regulatory schedule as other notorious poisons like arsenic or cyanide.
In Australia, it is used to kill unwanted wildlife. Despite claims that it is target-specific, it is frequently ingested by and kills non-target animals.
The dying process from 1080 poison is excruciating and long.
Animals poisoned with 1080 scream, vomit, defecate and suffer violent and prolonged seizures. They die with a final convulsion anywhere between 30 minut
Miss Violet would like to send out a special message today, being Halloween in Australia, to her friend Paige. Paige and her mum sent us a message kindly sharing with us how much the doggies bring them joy and in particular for Paige, little Miss Violet.
Miss Violet didn’t have a zombie costume to send back to Paige but hoping a spooky tutu will come close 💜
Miss Violet would like to send you some big slobbery licks Paige.
From Paige and family …
Hello from the UK!
We just wanted to share with you the joy that your channel brings to us as a family by sending you a photo of our daughter Paige ( who has quadriplegic Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy) going to her school Halloween disco dressed as a zombie Miss Violet!
She made sure to share the wonderful video of Miss Violet from your homepage with her classmates, we hope this brings a smile to your faces.
With love, hugs and endless admiration for what you do!

We met Winx a couple of months ago at the shelter. She definitely caught our attention. Seriously sweet and loving but it was apparent she might need a little help in finding her extra special home.
Winx, as you can see has crossed eyes. We weren’t sure if it was causing her discomfort from an injury or if this was something she was born with.
After assessing her, we discovered she was dog reactive, but it was obvious her visual impairment was what was behind her lack of confidence with other dogs. Winx should have been socialised early on in life with the kind of vision impairment she has so that she didn’t see them as any kind of threat … just as Miss Violet has been. But sadly Winx has not been so lucky.
We took Winx to an eye surgeon. It was confirmed that she is not in any pain or discomfort. She was born with the vision impairment. Her eyes have been crossed as a result of her brain finding the best possible signal at that position. Her sight is likely blurred as a result, no longer double vision, but dogs can’t tell us so that’s not confirmed. After several opinions from eye surgeons it has been decided as not recommended to undergo surgery. The risk is too high that it would make her sight worse.
Now, given the fact that American Staffys can struggle to be adopted (we are told by the rescue) and the fact she is vision impaired … Winx is really finding it hard to find that special home she so very much needs and deserves. She’s been at the shelter two months already.
Please help us share Winx’s story so that we might be able to reach that special someone.
Special dogs like Winx and Miss Violet are unique treasures. They have so much love to give to that special someone. They’re loving, affectionate, funny, cute and just want to be with their family or person all the time.
Winx is looking for a home that doesn’t have another dog, and probably someone who has a lot of time to give her. She needs to feel safe.

Remy and his sister Meeko the Pugs are holidaying at the farm together. Remy is a a little cat hunter. He’s got all his hunting senses switched on for optimal Kitty catching. His sister Meeko is trying to help … but leave it to the professionals says Remy … I got this sister. And he sure does, Kitty Rose doesn’t stand a chance … so she sits back and watches as it all unfolds.

We had our Shelter Dog Day Out yesterday. Luke and I had been discussing all week how we can best spend these days to give the most benefit to the dogs and to help out Dee.
Seeing as we have two trainers on hand, we thought a good idea would be to do training and guided socialisation in an effort to increase everyone’s social skills. But most especially the anti social ones that could possibly make some turnaround with some training and guidance during social interactions.
We asked Dee if she’d like to either continue with the exercise routine as per last week or try a new schedule focused on training and socialisation. What does she think would best benefit the dogs each week.
Dee without hesitation said that training and socialisation would be the most benefit. It is what makes them more adoptable.
So this week was a little different. We had the shelter staff exercise the anti social dogs in the playground whilst Luke and Jason did training sessions with each of them individually before they introduced them into the social pack with control and guidance.
There were 6 new dogs this week; Beagles, Beagliers, Cockalier and a Cocker Spaniel. Whilst they haven’t formally gone up for adoption, they already have had loads of inquiries given their size and breed.
They had a brilliant time running free. Dee made the comment that given their breeding background, they likely hadn’t ever been so free before. The Beagles, bred for running/hunting 8 hours a day through forests … loved it the most.
At the end of the day, one of the brothers decided he wanted to stay. A story to be continued …
All the dogs in this video are up for adoption and looking for loving homes to call their own.
If you would like to inquire about any of the dogs or apply to adopt, please get in contact with the shelter/rescue organisation on [email protected]

This is Jackson. He needs a home of his own so very much. He’s going backwards and this isn’t the true Jackson. He just needs a special someone to step up and be his hero.
These shelter dog day outs are especially important to help more dogs like Jackson. He needs to get out and run, but he also needs some extra help to find him a home sooner rather than later. Nothings changing for him otherwise.
When Jackson was let off the lead he did exactly what Freddo did that first time he came to the farm, ran the fence line. You can see in his eyes the barriers he’s started to put up. But under it all is his true loving self, and if given the chance he will return the love 1 million times over.
Each week these dogs will be coming to the farm to let out some energy. Each week people will get to see something more about them. So far there has already been some very positive progress for some of the other dogs who have already had their videos posted. Please help us help Jackson get some inquiries too by sharing the videos. And if you think you could be the person Jackson needs, please come forward and speak with Dee’s team. They’d really love to hear from you today.
Here is Jackson’s profile written by Dee the shelter founder.
This handsome and athletic fella is Jackson.
Jackson is an energetic 5yr old Cattle x and he's not coping living in the pound environment.
Jackson is very friendly and playful with the dogs he's met at the facility, to the point where he's actually become the dog we test all of our newbies with.
He has previously lived with cats, but we would recommend a slow and controlled introduction to ensure everyone feels safe and happy.
Obviously being a Cattle x he is a very energetic and athletic dog who loves playing with balls and squeaky toys. If you don't want to throw the ball for him, he happily throws it for himself!
Jackson enjoys human company, especially when it involves bum and back scratches. As he's still learning his manners w
Winnie the Wolfhound X is such a sweet girl and is looking for her special someone to find her and take her home forever. Emphasis on forever not 4 days. Sadly Winnie thought she’d found her home but was dumped at a high kill pound a few days later. Luckily the pound very kindly and compassionately called Dee and told her, so Don went immediately to go pick her up two hours away.
Winnie is back in the safety of Dee and her team.
Winnie is now looking for the real deal. She deserves it and so much more, she is such a sweet gentle girl.
Please help us by sharing these adoption posts so that we can try to reach Winnie’s special people, who we know are out there somewhere.
Thank you.
Here below is Winnie’s profiles written by Dee, the shelter founder.
WINNIE’s PROFILE:
Winnie is a Wolfhound x sweetheart born 16th September 2021.
Winnie is a lovely young lady who loves nothing more than spending time with people. She can get a bit boisterous and jumpy at times, so a home with older children would be beneficial for her so she can’t accidentally knock little ones over. In saying that, she is highly ball focused and very eager to please (she already knows how to sit, shake, lay down and roll over). With continued training she will soon know she's not allowed to jump up in excitement.
Winnie was a bit unsure when we introduced her to other dogs and wasn't sure how to behave. Even though she's a big girl, she's still a puppy and believe she could learn to get along and play with other dogs with more socialising and training.
Winnie was very scared of cats at the facility so we are recommending she go to a home with no existing feline friends.
Winnie has shown no signs of separation anxiety at the facility so we believe she would be fine being left alone during the day.
Winnie is such a loving girl and wants nothing more than a home she can call her own and not have to worry about losing another family.
If you think you could be that furever family for W
Tank and Chopper are 6 month old American Staffy X Kelpie brothers. They’re friendly with everyone and are looking for a place to finally call home. They’d love to find the same home together. They have a very loving and healthy relationship.
Please help us by sharing these adoption posts so that we can try to reach Tank and Chopper’s special people, who we know are out there somewhere.
Thank you.
Here below is Tank and Chopper’s profiles written by Dee, the shelter founder.
TANK AND CHOPPER:
Chopper & Tank are beautiful 6 month old Staffy x Kelpies.
These gorgeous boys came to us as strays and it was evident that they had come from the same house as they are completely in love with each other. While we would love nothing more than to rehome them as a bonded pair, we would consider separating them for the perfect homes.
Both of these boys are sweet young men who love nothing more than spending time with people. They can get a bit boisterous and jumpy at times, so a home with older children would be beneficial for them so they can’t accidentally knock little ones over.
Chopper & Tank were both very scared of cats so we would recommend a home without cats or pocket pets.
Both boys were very playful and happy with other dogs, both large adults and puppies. If you have another friendly, playful dog already in the family, please remember to bring them along with you for a meet and greet to ensure everyone gets along fine before heading home to live together.
These sweet young men both walk quite well on lead, however as they are still young they can get quite excited, so an experienced owner is recommended.
Neither of them show signs of food aggression towards humans or each other, however we do not test them with other animals at the facility.
Both boys seem to be ok to be left alone as long as they have each other as company.
Chopper & Tank are such a loving young men and they want nothing more than a home they can call their own and not have to
What can we say about these beautiful boys? Well it was immediately felt just how sweet and gentle these two are in everything they do. So very respectful. Just a couple of true gentlemans in every sense of the word.
When they were released into the big open paddock, I’m not sure there was a dry eye from any of us. Especially when Brax took off with such impressive speed and power but an obvious excited skip at the start. Like wow I’m free! This is what I was born to do. Run free.
Honestly, anyone would be lucky to have either of these dogs as their companion. Aunty Sam sure commented a few times how there were no Greys in our pack. But surely these two will not be up for adoption long. They’re just so sweet.
Please help us by sharing these adoption posts so that we can try to reach Tim and Brax’s special people, who we know are out there somewhere.
Thank you.
Here below is Tim and Brax’s profiles written by Dee, the shelter founder.
BRAX’s PROFILE:
We'd like to introduce Brax, a handsome Greyhound born 1st April 2019.
Brax is a lovely young man who loves everyone he meets. While he's very affectionate and sweet he does pull quite hard on the lead and is quite strong for his breed. Due to this we are recommending his owners be strong and relatively fit.
Brax is unfazed by dogs of all sizes and he showed no interest in cats. If you have a resident cat at home we recommend a slow and controlled introduction to ensure the safety of all animals.
Due to Brax's racing background he is not suitable being rehomed with pocket pets.
Brax has shown no signs of separation anxiety at the facility so we believe he would be fine being left alone during the day. He is super playful and loves his toys.
Brax is such a sweet and loving boy who wants nothing more than a home he can call his own. He also loves to lean on you when walking.
If you think you could be the furever family for Brax, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail
Here’s just a SNEAK PEEK at our very first Shelter Dogs Day Out at the Farm.

It’s that day again, we’re all excited to see each other. It’s farm day! The dogs are ready and they want to get on the bus and off on the road asap Uncle Luke!
Working with Dee at Maitland Animal Care Facility, we will be starting a weekly Shelter Dogs’ Day out at the Farm from this Thursday in an effort to help many many more dogs in need than the very limited spots we have for rehabilitation and are able to house.
All the dogs that are available for adoption at the pound, will be coming out to the farm for a fun day each week.
Dee has told us that some of the dogs’ behaviour and mental well-being has been deteriorating in the shelter environment. We are all hoping this weekly adventure is going to help with this.
We’re also hoping that by giving these dogs some extra exposure through our channels and showing their great traits and personalities in a different environment on our videos, that this will also help these dogs find loving homes and ultimately be adopted. Some of the dogs are really struggling to be noticed and they’re continually being overlooked.
Both the shelter and the farm are excited to be organising this weekly event. We’re really hoping this is going to help.
We want to show our appreciation to you all, our farm community for all the positive support you give us to be able to do this. Thank you.
Luke chats about performance levels, expectations and what level of achievement he is striving for when training the shelter dogs. And why?
He talks about Molly. Whilst Molly isn’t at the level of Rosco in terms of being integrated into the pack without restriction, her level of performance far exceeds normal. But why aim for this?
Luke discusses his thoughts and process.
Just wanted to share because sometimes how we do things and why, haven’t been explained in detail. We owe it to dogs like Molly to say clearly how outstanding her performance is and would be in the real world.
NB: Molly doesn’t enjoy making friends with other dogs as much as Rosco. And that’s ok. We’re not training dogs who don’t want to be, to be social butterflies. Just simply polite.
If you need a little inspiration today, or any day, look no further than Miss Violet. Have you ever seen a more enthusiastic dog before when it comes to living life to the fullest? Almost entirely deaf and blind, limited mental capacity … BUT does that ever stop her really? No way.
Look at her run full pelt. She can’t see what’s in front of her unless it runs into her … a few dogs have to jump above her to miss her … she follows a few shadows as they flick by… gets a little confused running through the tree shadows … but still doesn’t slow down.
She loves life, because she makes of it what she wants it to be.
Miss Violet isn’t like the other dogs, she doesn’t learn the same as they do. She is almost at a point where she might have to wear a nappy like Barney. Simple things like toilet training is not something she is capable of, she will get herself into an open kennel and can’t get out even though the door she just came through is actually still open.
But life? She knows more about living life than many of us.
You be you Miss Violet, and we will love and support whatever that may be.
#staffy
He may not hide in the playground anymore, but sitting in his armchair and not listening or pretending Jason isn’t there … is good enough.
Time to go home Bandit. See you next week buddy.
You can only hope and pray that the outcome could be this good, when you work with a dog like Rosco.
Only just last week, Luke was shadowing/correcting Rosco in the pool muzzled because he was focusing on the dogs not the games.
Now look at him.
Yes Rosco you are an impressive dog! Not just because you’re so talented being able to fit four big toys in your giant mouth.
He is just as enthusiastic at discovering this new love of water as Luna was.
He did not want to leave.
We welcomed Frederick the 6 month old Mini Dachshund to the farm. He is Bentley’s little brother. Bentley showed little Frederick around and made sure he was always ok. Frederick on the other hand was ready for anything. Typical Dachshund attitude, fearless, hearts as big as lions, don’t want to miss out on any of the fun. Frederick had heard about this place called the farm from his big brother and it was everything he had imagined it to be. Frederick had a big fun day making lots of friends and got to help some rescue dogs socialise alongside his brother in the process.
Luna has left the farm to start her new life with her new mum. Luna’s Mum lives by the beach and makes two trips a day to the beach which sounds like the perfect lifestyle for our water loving Luna.
Her mum is retired and will be able to spend all her days with Luna, she has an outdoor enclosed area for Luna when she pops out and even when Luna’s mum goes on holidays she has asked that Luna return to the farm for a holiday herself.
We could not be happier for Luna.
Now of course if it doesn’t work out for whatever reason, Luna has a place back here at the farm, but we are in full support of this adoption and really think it could be wonderful.
We will miss you Luna but boy are we over the moon happy for you. What a change in life for you. From deteriorating in a kennel situation and overlooked to becoming social again, discovering your new love of swimming, even dock diving … to now finally finding your home. All in a few weeks. What a joy it has been to be a part of that journey with you Luna. Thank you to Dee at Maitland Animal Care Facility for saving and believing in Luna. AND advocating for Luna to get her out of the kennel and into the farm.
P.S We’ve decided not to show Luna’s departure. We don’t want to create any additional and unnecessary pressure from comments. Let’s keep it positive and we will share any updates with you all that we receive.
Today was the day Rosco has been waiting for a while. Graduating from being a dog in training up the back, to being a part of the house pack.
Off lead and off muzzle.
He’s worked extremely hard and it has paid off.
This has been so much work, but so worth it. Rosco now gets to enjoy the freedom of being social everyday and involved in all that we do. He will also move out of the apartments up the back and into the garage like Luna.
He will only progress more and more each day now with even more opportunities to learn.
Way to go Rosco this is a really big achievement buddy.
Thank you so very much to everyone who has sent us parcels in the mail. We are slowly getting through them all in our lunch breaks by the pool. The dogs are loving it too. Thank you again for everyone’s support.
