6 weeks old today.
Average weight gain for the week was 2kg 😳
Puppies were wormed at breakfast time then spent the whole day outside.
Life is currently all about dirt, play, p**p and chasing birds away from the left over food. Oh, and beauty sleep.
Winter hasn't been kind to the grass in the pup yard.

Sorry about the lack of updates. Life tends to get in the way sometimes. Pups ventured into their big yard today for a play until Mumma Sadie decided it was lunch time.

I didn't get a chance to do the update I wanted to yesterday. These babies are growing like weeds. Beautiful, squishy cuddly weeds. Yesterday they turned 4 weeks. They had their worming and weight check. Minimum weight gain for the week was 886gms, the biggest was 1.1kg

We had a picnic for lunch today. Very messy business. They eat it, walk in it, stand on each other, basically bath in it.

How are they possibly already 3 weeks old? The top panel of the whelping box door was put on today as Mr Yellow could smell his Mumma on the other side and tried to interrupt her time out.

Another upgrade to the whelping box today. Toilet training starts.

So today some of the puppies learnt a new trick. 💪
Others learnt that their noses are not snorkels 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Today saw everyone up on their sea legs getting around the whelping box. They are starting to show interest in toys and learning how to growl at each other when stepped on.
The fawn babies are starting to lose the smutty colour as the fawn coat comes through.

11 puppies bathed and 198 nails trimmed.

Upgrade to the whelping box today with the addition of pre boiled and cooled water in hopefully spill proof bowls. It doesn't stay clean long. Now that their eyes are open the fun and mess begins ♡

Puppies are finding their legs and have grown out of their whelping collars and now have real dog collars (all the same colours). It's such a good feeling to give them a clean bed and collars.
Then Sadie comes in after rolling in the dirt 🤦🏻‍♀️

Learning to dog.
Its not all cute, cuddly little babies.
Sometimes they sleep in p**p, urinate on siblings, suck on all kinds of appendages (mums bits, brothers bits), cry because they think they are hungry (right after falling asleep on mum with a full belly) 🤦🏻‍♀️
Actually...... it still is pretty darn cute.

Day 7.
The winners of today's weigh in has to be Mr Dark Blue and Mr Green both reaching just over a kilo. What a way to end their first week!
Mumma Sadie also doing really well. Loving her babies and never too far from them.
