Today we say goodbye to our very special Dr Nat 🩺

Dr Nat has been a part of the Karratha Vet Hospital team since arriving in Karratha in April 2014. She has seen so many faces come and go through the clinic over the years.

Nat is an amazing vet who has touched the lives of so many Pilbara pets and owners. She has built her life in Karratha with her family and will be incredibly missed.

We will miss you Dr Nat. We wish you all the very best for your next chapter and may there be a constant supply of nut free chocolate wherever you work.

Goodluck & until next time (we can’t say goodbye) 👋

Guy Fawkes Fireworks 2024 🎇

As a part of Guy Fawkes celebrations today (November 2nd) there will be a firework display at the Dampier Foreshore starting from approximately 8.00pm.

To us fireworks mean celebrations however for our furry family members it can be a night of explosions, terror, and fear. Some pets will try to escape the noise by jumping over or digging under fences, and may even injure themselves trying to do so.

Here are our top tips for keeping our furry friends safe during fireworks:

🐾 Know when fireworks are expected so you can prepare early

🐾 Ensure your pet exercises beforehand - a tired, and well-fed pet can be less anxious

🐾 Create a safe place inside with a hiding place, closed blinds, and use music/tv to mask the noise

🐾 Remain calm, perform normal activities and avoid fussing over your pet as this can encourage anxious behaviour

🐾 Ensure your pet is microchipped and details are up to date, in case they do escape

And please DO NOT take your pet to the fireworks display. Every fireworks event multiple
Pets go missing during the display, some are never found, others become victims of road traffic accidents.

And please also be mindful of wildlife as they will also be scared and be out on the roads.
