Meet Charlie, the English Staffy…

🐾 What is your favourite toy?
👉🏽 Most of my toys don’t last long as I’m a super chewer! I need something strong and big! I have two small fluffy toys that I haven’t yet destroyed. I like to nibble on those ones, and I am gentle with them.

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 Sometimes, when I get really excited over a treat, I dance around it like a pony before I will take it. I nibble at it gently while I jump all around and bark before eventually picking it up. My family calls me a pony and laughs every time.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 One time, somebody left my front gate a slight crack open, and I decided to sneak out. Nobody noticed I slipped out so I took myself for a walk to my favourite pole on the corner, had a sniff, did a wee and walked myself right back into the gate like nothing happened.
Once they realised the gate was left open and the guilty look on my face, they knew exactly what had happened.

🐾 If you could be anything or anyone in the world, who or what would that be?
👉🏽 I’d probably be a cat. I love to laze about in the sun, and I always want to cuddle as high as possible on my family’s shoulders, just like our cat.

🐾 If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?
👉🏽 Cheese, more cheese and a walk 😍

🐾 What did you last dream about?
👉🏽 My humans said I was growling and barking in my sleep! I must have had a scary dream; I think I was being chased by our cat!

👉🏽 Taking me on adventures

🐾 Where is your favourite place to sleep?
👉🏽 My favourite place to nap is on the lounge in between Anzac’s legs or in Jess’s bed. During the night, my favourite bed is with my Mummy and Daddy.

👉🏽 I Make myself a comfy spot on the lounge; I get the blankets and pillows all pushed up and into a nice spot, then I plonk myself on top and have a nap till they come home.

👉🏽 My favourite toy is my ball. I love catching it when it bounces, but I can’t play for long anymore because I have a sore back leg. But my mum still plays with me every night.

👉🏽 I accidentally got the oil spray lid stuck on my bottom lip. Everyone thought it was so funny.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I try and pull Mum into my friend’s house to get treats on my way home from my walk every day; I win most days and get more than one treat.

🐾 If you could be anything or anyone in the world, who or what would that be?
👉🏽 I would love to be young again so I could bush walk with my mum.

🐾 Who is your favourite family member?
👉🏽 My Mum! I hate the days she has to go away for work or even go to the shop. I try and sleep the time away so she comes back faster.

👉🏽 Patricia the platypus, but my brother Harvey chewed all her flippers off, so I usually play with whatever toy Harvey's playing with... I also love sticks.

👉🏽 My first Balmoral burn race with Dad, I was very excited but didn't realise how steep the hill was, so I literally would put my brakes on every 5 metres while Dad was running

👉🏽 NAUGHTY?! I’m a perfect angel!

🐾 What is your favourite toy?
👉🏽 Oh! My favourite toy would have to be my Kong. Mum says it's supposed to hold treats, but I love just picking it up and running around with it. I don't know why everyone jumps back when I go to drop it in front of them; it doesn't hurt my paws!

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I think Mum and I would have different answers, but I think the funniest thing I've done was when Mum was trying to shoo sheep back into their yard I decided to bark at them and scare them in the opposite direction Mum wanted them to go

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 The naughtiest thing I've done would have to be ripping up the brand-new bed Mum gave me. I just wanted to see what was inside it that made it so comfy! I at least slept on it for one night...

🐾 If you could be anything or anyone in the world, who or what would that be?
👉🏽 I would want to be the weird little creature that sometimes sits on Mum’s shoulder. It looks like the things I chase that fly, but I'm not allowed to chase this one.

👉🏽 - to be able to spend all of my time with mum

👉🏽 My brother Bentley inspires me. I think he's the coolest, but I'm a little bit too big to play with him because he's a cocker spaniel.

👉🏽 My stuffed monkey and I are besties. We snuggle, we play, and I express my love by giving him a little 'amputation' here and there!�

👉🏽 Not to toot my own horn, but I’m basically the canine equivalent of a stand-up comedian. My best skit? High-sp*ed zoomies around the yard with top-notch funny faces. I’m also a chatterbox—I’ve got a whole symphony of goofy sounds when I play with my toys!

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 Once, at a family dinner, I pulled the ultimate cheese heist: I swiped the last block from the board and tried to devour it whole before anyone could stop me. Apparently, Dominic and Sarah were mortified—but hey, it was too good to pass up!

🐾 Who is your favourite family member?
👉🏽 From day one, it’s been me and Dominic against the world—he raised me single-handedly and was my first bestie. Sarah entered the picture, and now I’m in love with her, too. But this has led to some major separation anxiety. I basically cry every time either of them leaves the house!

🐾 If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?
👉🏽 1. A world where I’m never alone and always the main character.
2. A 24/7 snack dispenser—no need to work for food, I just want to exist and munch.
3. The perfect window perch to oversee all the comings and goings—nothing happens in my neighbourhood without me noticing!

👉🏽 Cry, bark, repeat—just trying to get my humans back! Being left alone is my personal nightmare. I’m a clingy boy with separation anxiety, and I need my humans near me—24/7!

👉🏽 2024 has been purrrfect, although could have used more snacks. 2025 I plan on staring more are the humans, they will eventually give me more treats if I look at them long enough.

👉🏽 I’m old and tired. Toys bore me, but if you use your hand to rub my belly I will happily kick you!!

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I find the best and easiest way to wake the humans for breakfast is by climbing on them and standing on their necks with all my weight. I think this is hilarious.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I knocked the trash bin over hunting for the rest of a chicken carcass. This caused trash to go everywhere. As punishment, I also had to clean it up.

🐾 If you could be anything or anyone in the world, who or what would that be?
👉🏽 Being a cat is perfect. I don’t have to pay any bills or clean my own poo. But I’d love to have human hands so I can open the fridge myself.

👉🏽 None of them. But I’m their favourite.

👉🏽 Unlimited treats, never take me to the vet again, I’d like the humans queen-sized bed to myself.

Meet Fraser, the Domestic Ginger…

🐾 What did you think of 2023, and what are your plans for 2024?
👉🏽 2024 was AWESOME! Mum was home for three months after quitting her horrible job so every time Dad's alarm went off, in I went, MOOK-WOWING to get Dad to get up and go to work so I could have Mum all to myself! I don't like it now that Mum has to work again though. I try to keep her in bed longer by smooching up to her. 2025 will be a year of more cuddles.

🐾 What is your favourite toy?
👉🏽 It's a stuffed toy kitty named Chloe (that's actually her name - says so on the tag). I love to both make love to her and carry her around like a baby too. I make sooky noises when I cuddle her and then when I see Mum, I put her down and go over to Mum and climb on her chest for cuddles.

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 Fell in the bath while it was full.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 Climbed on the roof.

🐾 If you could be anything or anyone in the world, who or what would that be?
👉🏽 I'm comfortable in my own skin and fur, thanks very much. :)

👉🏽 MUM... she spoils me so much! Dad could be working from home, but I won't make any noise until Mum gets home. Then, I bug her for dinner and treats!

I even do it to you when we're outside... if you call me inside, I flip over on my back and look up at you until you pick me up. That makes you happy, and I know it, which is why I do it. :)

👉🏽 I am going away to Port Stephens for Christmas and will be going to the beach for the first time. I am excited to see what all the fuss is about.

👉🏽 I don’t play with toys, but I absolutely love bones and treats.

👉🏽 What do you mean I'm already the goodest boy? So me!!!

👉🏽 2024? Too busy sleeping, I think?! I’d say in 2025, I will probably have a few more naps.

👉🏽 I don't really have any toys… I just enjoy laying on my lounge.

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 This one time, I stayed at my sister’s place for the weekend and decided that I would escape from the backyard and go for self-guided walkies down to the local bottle-o when my sister was able to find my whereabouts and get me on the lead, I played my favourite trick which was to lay on my back next to the road so nobody was able to move or take me home.

👉🏽 I once braved adventuring into the backyard and managed to capture a turtle.

👉🏽 Whoever has been delivering the most tasty treats lately

🐾 What did you think of 2023, and what are your plans for 2024?
👉🏽 I was born in 2024, so it was my first year of being here. In 2025, I’m looking forward to getting to know my family even more!

🐾 What is your favourite toy?
👉🏽 My favourite toy is Ramsey the pink monster…. I like him because he is mini and bite-sized. I can actually carry him around!

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I was chewing on chewing gum that I found on the ground during a walk.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 My Mum loves her garden, and so do I. I often like to make adjustments to her garden as she does, I’ve been digging in there, I removed every one of her brand-new flowers, and I’ve pulled a whole plant out and brought it inside with sprinkles of soil everywhere. Gardening is so fun!

🐾 Who is your favourite family member?
👉🏽 Giorgia is my favourite for cuddles and affection, and Blake is my favourite for playtime and wrestling!

👉🏽 I would buy 5 thousand toys!!!!!!

👉🏽 Sleeping on my Mum’s lap ALL day without her getting up once!!

Meet Chewbacca, the Irish Wolfhound X…

🐾 What did you think of 2023, and what are your plans for 2024?
👉🏽 2024 has been really busy for my family, and we’ve seen a lot of change. I have also really come out of my shell since meeting Mum and Dad and have come to understand. They really have given me my forever home, and that has given me peace to be myself, enjoy all the games and toys they have given me and get to play with my cousins when I go see Nan and Pop!

🐾 What is your favourite toy?
👉🏽 my favourite toy is moo moo. It is my little toy cow that was given to me by Grandma when she was living with us. I love it so much she has even had to repair him a couple of times when I have loved him a little too hard.

🐾 What is the funniest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I think I’m pretty funny all the time. I like to run around and play Zoomies, but if you ask Mum and Dad, they always love to tell people about the time that I was enjoying my belly rubs so much that I rolled off the couch, but I didn’t even flinch and went straight back to getting cuddled and pet.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 When I first came to live with Mum and Dad, I had a lot of anxiety, and I struggled whenever I had to be left home alone, terrified that they had left me behind. During this time. I would dig holes in the yard or chew on the outdoor seating set, which would make Mum really mad when she got home, but she always understood why I did it and would give me lots of cuddles to help me feel better

🐾 If you could be anything or anyone in the world, who or what would that be?
👉🏽 I’d be a bird, so I could fly around and go everywhere with mum and dad!

🐾 Who is your favourite family member?
👉🏽 Mum is definitely my favourite, but occasionally, I switch to Dad to keep them on their toes!

🐾 If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?
👉🏽 1. For mum to be a stay-at-home dog mum so we can snuggle all day and watch movies
2. To play with Dad all the time because he lets me play rough (Mum doesn’t like to play as rough, but that’s ok, Dad said she’s a girl, so we need to be gentle)
3. Endless treats/food

🐾 Who or what inspires you?
👉🏽 My Cousin Anakin - he’s a Husky, and he showed me it’s ok to trust my new family and how to play like a dog should (he also helps me break out occasionally so we can go for a run together but only when we are alone)

👉🏽 I’d buy all the best doggy treats, and I’d pay for Mum to stay home with me all day!

🐾 What did you last dream about?
👉🏽 I was chasing the cats that try to get into my yard all the time and ruin dads gardens

👉🏽 What a great dog I am, and how fast my zoomies are!

👉🏽 Mum is the boss, and we must always do what she says, but she’s a good boss and I always get rewarded for being the best boy as she says and Dad is a really really good dad, he always plays and wrestles with me and even if I get in trouble he still comes and cuddles me and tells me it’s ok.

🐾 What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
👉🏽 I Ran after a ball soo fast that I ripped my rib cage on a corrugated iron corner of the garden bed and had seven stitches

🐾 Who is your favourite family member?
👉🏽 My owner wants me to say it’s her, but I love all my pack members equally, males more soo than females

🐾 If you won lotto, how would you spend the money?
👉🏽 Pay my mum’s way so we can spend more time together on camping trips every day!

🐾 What did you last dream about?
👉🏽 swimming in the river after sticks and chasing possums

🐾 Where is your favourite place to sleep?
👉🏽 My Mum bought me this second-hand brand new gigantic bed that can fit another three dogs on it (which my dog friends are actively trying to do without my consent), and to claim my spot, I sleep diagonally on it.

👉🏽 I sleep, too. I understand the importance of beauty sleep; however, I sleep with one ear perked up to guard my Mum against intruders and possums

👉🏽 I jump up on my favourite outdoor chair (that I wasn’t allowed on originally, but I was too cute, so my Mum mellowed out) and lounge in the sun all day while watching birds jump around my backyard

Our Story

When I received my first camera from my grandfather at the age of 13, my passion for photography began.

However, it wasn’t until a debilitating spinal condition ended my sales and marketing career, that I pursued photography as a full time career. As I recovered from surgery, I picked up my camera again. It gave me something to do and as I honed my skills, I found a renewed love for it.

Aside from photography, another passion of mine has always been music. So, it was a natural step for me to begin shooting musicians. I have loved capturing the explosive, primal feeling of a live show, as well as the charisma of performers such as Lorde, Bon Iver, The Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, and Florence and the Machine. I relished the challenge that each live show provided and I was good at it, gaining solid work and respect in the industry.

Animals have also always featured in my life and while on a month-long trip to Africa in the summer of 2015, I realised that my lifelong love of animals could translate to something more. The combination of my passions, photography, music and animals, came together in my personal project “Pet Rock”. I was excited about shooting pets as rock stars, with my aim to create the same sense of drama and energy in my photography of animals, as I am able to get from live music performances. As I explored this project, it became the inspiration for Tame & Wild Studio.
