The Bateup Racing Team kicked off the new season in fine style with 3 winners during August 😍. Kickamushu, Mystic Diva and Master Riley all broke through for their Maiden wins. Kickamushu and Mystic Diva have been very consistent performers and were well overdue to knock off their first wins, whilst the lightly raced Master Riley notched his first win at his 4th career start and has never finished out of the first four! Pretty Please ran 2nd to Mystic Diva at Moruya and followed that up with a 3rd in a Super Maiden at Kembla Grange. We look forward to continuing with a successful season. It was great way to finish the 2023/2024 racing season with a winning double at Sapphire Coast Turf Club yesterday and some fantastic runs by the rest of the team 🤩. Tartana claimed the feature race:The South Coast Timber Eden Cup in fine style whilst Mulvader demolished his opposition in the next race to win by 4 1/2 lengths 🏆. Both were ridden superbly by Jess Taylor and the win aboard Tartana brought up our 80th win together 🥰. The wins also saw Jess claim the Jockeys Premiership for the Sapphire Coast season 👏. Sassy Missile just missed in the final race of the program whilst Skaifee ran fantastic and was very unlucky not to win in finishing 3rd. Gunnaheadovski returned in fantastic order from a long spell to run 3rd whilst Mystic Diva resumed with an eye catching 3rd with Kickamushu close behind her in 4th placing. A huge thank you to our whole team that have worked hard all season and looking forward to the season ahead 👏🌟😍. Congratulations to all owners and we look forward to celebrating more winners 🎉

It was the perfect finish to the racing career of Hope Uno winning over 1600m at Tamworth yesterday with a brilliant ride by Anna Roper 🏆👏🤩. Hope has been an extremely honest and consistent mare and we are going to miss having her in the stables as she heads off to be a Mum! Hope retires with a race record of 44 starts for 5 wins, 5 x seconds and 15 x third placings. Coincidentally, Hope won her Maiden at Tamworth over 1200m in 2022 (also with Anna Roper in the saddle) and in between notched up three wins at Sapphire Coast (for Jess Taylor, Molly Bourke and Olivia Chambers) as well as numerous placings including a Randwick midway, Canterbury, Kembla Grange, Gosford, Hawkesbury, Moruya, Goulburn and Queanbeyan. We look forward to seeing her foals in years to come! Thank you to everyone that has played a part in Hope’s career and thank you to “Hope” for being such a pleasure to have in our team for the past 3 years 🥰❤️

Tartana was a dominant winner at Kembla Grange last Tuesday bringing up her 2nd career win in her past three starts. Ridden a treat by Jess Taylor, “Dolly” showed a good turn of foot to win by almost 2 lengths. Dolly is building a solid record and a big congratulations and thank you to her owners who have been patient with her and it was great to have a lot of her owners on course to cheer Dolly on 👏. As always thank you to our staff and supporters 🥰

Tartana broke through for her well deserved Maiden win at Gosford yesterday over 1300m🤩. Tartana has been a very consistent mare and following 5 placings showed she is in for a good preparation with the first up win. Tartana was given a 10/10 ride by Jess Taylor 👏. What a little legend our Foxtrot Bravo is 🤩Today he won the Kembla Grange Stayers Cup 🏆 over 2400m for Jess Taylor and brought up his 5th win and took his career earnings over $200k! Fox is much loved in the stables and very much a stable favourite 😍. We could not be prouder of our Fox and as a 7yo he is racing in career best form. Victory At Omaha also produced a great effort to finish 3rd in the Benchmark 64 1600m. Congratulations to all owners and a huge thank you to our staff 🌟

Direct Fire delivered a dominant all the way win in the Canberra Guineas Preview over 1400m at Canberra yesterday. Working across from a wide barrier, Drake relaxed nicely for Kayla Nisbet and kicked clear over the final stages 🏆. Sassy Missile made it 2 wins from just 4 starts with a tough effort at Sapphire Coast yesterday in the Class 1 1608m ridden superbly by Jess Taylor 🏆. “Pommie” has done a superb job this preparation and will now head for a well deserved spell ❤️. Foxtrot Bravo put in another great effort to collect another 2nd placing whilst Macquarie Miss resumed from a spell with an encouraging 3rd placing. We had another enjoyable and successful Sappire Coast Bega Cup Carnival 🤩. Vain Invader was superb in winning the Tathra Cup aided by a perfect ride by Angus Villiers and made light work of the 62.5kg running a track record over the 1400m! “Garth” and Angus returned to a very excited and loud group of owners and supporters 👏. Foxtrot Bravo added another 2nd placing in the Bateup Racing Sapphire Coast Cup over 2200m whilst Direct Fire delivered an excellent performance to finish 2nd in the Class 1 1400m just missing by a head! It was great a great weekend and fantastic to have so many owners in attendance. A big thank you to our staff for their hard work 🥰

It was a fantastic day for the stable at Moruya on Friday with a winning double and two third placings 🌟. Foxtrot Bravo kicked off by storming down the outside to win the Benchmark 66 2000m for Robyn Freeman. A stable favourite, 7yo “Fox” is racing as well as ever and delighted his big group of owners 🥳. In the following race, Victory At Omaha led all the way for Louise Day to win first up from a spell in the Open 1425m and is building a great record making it 6 wins from 21 starts 🤩. Crackalacka finished 3rd behind stablemate Victory At Omaha whilst Iconic Miss resumed with a good effort to finish 3rd. The very handsome Ghaznavi “Andy” made his race debut at Canterbury yesterday and what an eye catching debut it was!!! A clear last early in the race and a long way behind the leaders, Andy, under the guidance of Molly Bourke steamed home to finish 4th despite being very green still. It looks as though we will have a lot of fun with this good looking son of Invader. It capped off a good start to 2024 with Kickamushu running another honest race and giving a good sight to finish 3rd in the race prior. Exciting times ahead with a lot of our young horses starting to get to the races 🥰🤩

Sassy Missile made the perfect start to her racing career winning at Moruya yesterday, ridden by Jess Taylor, and continued a great week for the stable 🌟. “Pommie” stuck her head out where it counted for a narrow but solid win, with plenty of improvement to come. A big congratulations to her group of owners who have been very patient with Pommie, who was making her debut as a 4yo.
On Saturday, our honest little mare, Hope Uno produced a superb effort to come form last on the home turn at Randwick and power home to finish 3rd in The Midway over 1600m for Molly Bourke. Hope has a big heart and thoroughly deserved a city placing on her resume 💖.
We have a great team of staff who are doing a fantastic job, thank you 🤩

Arabian Soo made the perfect start to her racing career with a dominant win at Wagga yesterday and a perfect ride by Kayla Nisbet. From the outside barrier “Shimmy” worked across to lead and when asked for an effort in the straight careered away to win by 2.5 lengths!!! Well done to all owners and a special thank you to strapper Denise Dandy, strapping her first winner for the stable 🌟. Thank you also to our staff at home for all of their hard work 👏💗

We achieved another winning double at Sapphire Coast on Monday 🌟. Hope Uno drove through a small gap along the fence to take out the Tilba Valley Winery & Ale House Class 3 over 1600m for Olivia Chambers whilst Mulvader broke through for a well deserved Maiden win (The Bar Monti Merimbula Maiden Plate over 1600m) following good efforts all preparation for Jess Taylor. Kickamushu collected another placing finishing 3rd whilst Mystic Diva worked home well to finish 4th. Congratulations 🥳 to all owners and a huge thank you to our staff and supporters ❤️

We were back in the winner’s circle at Sapphire Coast on Thursday with a winning double …. Courtesy of an impressive debut victory by Direct Fire (Jess Taylor) and a solid effort by Magic Alwyns (Robyn Freeman). We also had a 2nd placing with Tartana, 3rd placings with Hope Uno and Paziah and Alan ran another honest race finishing 4th. A successful day all round and we also had the trifecta in the trial with Button inthe Plate, Prized Alwyns and Star of the Class set to debut shortly. Congratulations to all of our owners, especially Tom and Tracey Russell who bred Magic Alwyns (and raced her mother Zariz Alwyns with us). Thank you as always to our staff and supporters 💗💗💗
