We interrupt our normal dog content to announce we are adding another mini dog trainer to the crew!

Unfortunately, my many commitments have found me burning the candle at both ends. We are also experiencing some minor complications with my health due to carrying this little gift. For these reasons I have made the sad decision to step back from offering private lessons.

I will continue to offer group puppy classes and adolescent classes up until my delivery or until no longer physically possible for both MVVS and . This also does not change any exisiting bookings; I will fulfil any booked sessions with clients at which time we can discuss further sessions.

For anyone else looking to engage in one on one sessions with an outstanding balanced trainer in our area please seek help from he is amazing at what he does and has always been my number 1 referral!

I hope to be back doing what I love at some stage after the arrival of Baby #2 🤍🤍

One of my favourite parts of working with people and their dogs is watching the owners transform. Most of the time my job is about you, not your dog.

What I wish you did before getting a new dog…

1. Research the breed and pick one appropriate for your lifestyle. Some dog breeds are just not suitable for some families or individuals! If you are unsure consult a trainer, we can help you pick a breed that will fit perfectly into your life.

2. Pick a reputable breeder! If you are purchasing a dog pick a breeder that:
- Is a registered NSW breeder (if in this state)
- Let you site their facility and both parents
- Is following recommended genetic testing
- Is breeding for temperament
- Is not releasing puppies to you until a MINIMUM of 8 weeks old

3. Make sure all members of the household are on board with plan for boundaries and structure. Where will the dog sleep? Who will be in charge of feeding and exercising? Will they be outside or inside/outside? These are all things to consider and decide before the dog arrives.

Welcome to the pack SNEAK! 🐾

As of yesterday we have officially adopted this beautiful GSP boy from GSP rescue QLD.

Sneak is 16 months old and was dumped at a pound in Victoria. The rescue coordinator told us that it was likely due to his boisterous and excitable nature; a nature which is very stereotypical of the breed and a nature I am very used to working with.

He had been in foster care with a beautiful family for about a month before we transported him to us.

So far he has settled in nicely with only mild anxiety (to be expected) and a habit of sneaking washing off of the line.

His jumping and mouthing has already minimised to almost 0 and he has began to adjust to our routine and the structure we have in place.

Most importantly Sage adores him and we cannot wait to share more of him with you ✨

If you’ve done a puppy preschool with me before you’ve heard me preach about the importance of understanding the breed of dog you have chosen.

There are 3 main factors that influence behaviour; genetics, environment and learning/past experiences. Genetics is the one factor we CANNOT change.

Biological or breed fulfilment is about offering your dogs the opportunity to satisfy their genetic drives. Fulfilment can reduce frustration, anxiety and the development/occurrence of problem behaviours.

Ideally you should have researched your dogs breed in depth before acquiring them. If you didn’t this is your reminder to now! 🐾

As many of you already know I am back taking new clients! 🎉

I have some room to take on dogs on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. There will still be a small wait time before your first session but I’m excited to be able to see you.

Please be aware that I have made the decision to make a small price increase with the reopening of books to new clients. This will only apply to clients that have not been quoted prior to today.

Due to increasing demand I have made the decision to temporarily close my books to new clients. This is just so I can spend the time working with existing cases.

Group classes will run as per usual and if you would like to start private training I am more than happy to put you on a wait list for when my schedule clears up.
