I have been making this style of baby bibs for over 40 years now and they are still as practical and popular as ever. This lot are heading out the door very soon for a customer and I do have some more in stock (some with matching burp cloths). Bibs are $8 each and burp cloths $8 also. All bibs have feature fabric on the front with towelling on the back and a snap at the neck for easy on and off.

Miserable day weathwise at my place today so spent the morning sorting out my latest yarn stash into future projects. Something from my kitchen. Just made a batch of Lemon butter and a batch of Lemon and passion fruit butter. Selling it to my local friends who have been asking for it. $6 a jar now as the price of eggs, sugar and butter have gone up. 250 mls per jar. My homegrown lemons and passion fruit and local eggs. All proceeds from the sale of this will be donated to the Camden haven Anglican Church spring festival being held on 21st September. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks

Today was a big day in my neck of the woods. After my local CWA branch meeting I went up to port to deliver all the lovely beanies , fingerless gloves and ear warmers made by my local cwa members and friends plus my crochet student. I am so appreciative of the effort and willingness for them all to contribute to this cause. The 37 beanies, 10pairs of fingerless gloves and 4 ear warmers were greatly appreciated by the staff in the north coast cancer unit for those undergoing various treatments for cancer. A small way we can help them with their journey.

Another quick customer order finished. A friend friend’s knitted these three stripes and I sewed them together and crocheted a scalloped edge on for her to finish it off. I have enjoyed having this one on my lap to keep me warm as I worked. It is very soft and squishy.

Another few orders now completed. Crochet mesh jacket for a lady in northern NSW, fingerless gloves for my daughter- sent in a package to my grandson with cookies for them to enjoy, teal crazy patchwork bag to sell and 4 placemats all finished. I have also made some more progress on one of the crocheted blankets that I am making for an expected new arrival in Sept. Order book still closed.

Wet and cold at my place today so finished off a couple more everyday bags and they are now all for sale. Items will be posted within 2 days of funds received. All lovingly handmade by me in my rural home in Kendall.
Each bag has padded handles, patchworked and quilted with tie and button to ensure you don't lose anything with an inside pocket for your phone and pen. Bags are $30 plus $10 towards postage if required.

UPDATE-As I am swamped with customer orders and things I want to make I will not be taking any orders for a couple of months. (Please contact me if you want something specific for a special person and I will see if I have time to make it). I have a couple of baby blankets to finish crocheting, a corner to corner blanket as a class sample, beanies and fingerless gloves for the Cancer Institute at Port Base Hospital, tea cosies for a local shop, a couple of ladies cardigans to crochet and heaps of patterns I want to try out and numerous other items to finish off as well as the sewing etc that never seems to end.
Church festival (fete) coming up in September and I need to get items made for then. Also CWA competition and local ag show need my completed items.
If you saw the yarn stash and the fabric stash that I have awaiting use you will understand.
I have been feeling a bit under pressure lately with so many things to do and while I have thoroughly enjoyed making everything I will just have to pause for awhile to catch my breath.
All that being said I will continue to update you with the projects as I finish them and there might be the occassional item for sale as I work through my UFO's (unfinished objects).
Please note that all confirmed orders will still be progressing and hopefully completed in a timely fashion.
I am feeling well just overwhelmed at the moment.

Time for a weekly round up. I have been crocheted around the edge of these knitted squares (knitted by a customer) and then crocheted them together before adding a border. Sorry photo doesn't show up pattern very much- taken at night time while it was on the blocking boards and pins.
Also finish a couple of bun covers as a class sample for my Monday girls. and one wanted a phone bag so made up pattern. Also finished knitting a very soft beanie and another pair of fingerless mittens which will go to the local Cancer Institute centre at my local hospital.
Have also been working on two corner to corner blankets but will show photos when they are finished (hopefully this week). Not much sewing time this past week.

Also been sorting patterns and yarns to make some beanies and fingerless gloves with my CWA branch members for the North Coast Cancer Centre at Port Base Hospital. This is the first beanie I have trialed (from my yarn stash) for this purpose as I wanted them soft, not too tight, warm etc. More samples to come soon. A very kind friend has donated some beautiful soft yarn for us to work with.

I have still be crafting over the past week but has been awhile since I showed you what I was working on. Just finished a little baby girl knitted set with bolero, pixie hat and stay on bootees- suitable for about 3 months old and knitted in 4 ply this time so a little thinner yarn that what I usually use for babywear with a few little daisy's stitched on for cuteness. edited to add- SOLD. customer loved it and bought it straight away for her grandson to grow. Another dinosaur hoodie completed. This time crocheted. First time making this pattern ( for a 2 year old)and turned out bigger than the pattern suggested. In reality more suitable for a four 3-4 year old depending on the size of the child. Made with quality fiddlesticks acrylic yarn which is anti pilling. Very cosy and warm. At this stage this has been made for a customer but will let you know if it is too big for the grandchild and therefore for sale.

A few odds and ends I have finished off. Used them as class samples for my crochet students to make.

One of my lovely customers asked me to make a couple of memory quilts for her daughter from her baby clothes (daughter will soon be 4). Mum delivered the her baby clothes to me when we were in Sydney last trip and this is what I have come up with. 1st quilt done and now starting on the 2nd one. Recently finished this lovely crocheted cardigan in 100% pure sheep wool. Size 16-20 approx and is now available for sale. The cost is $80 which includes postage if required. Gentle hand wash and flat dry recommended (colour catcher also recommended in the wash to trap any colour bleeds- available from woolies and coles).
