Cash the Jenday, the bird that started my passion for conures.
She is arguably one of the prettiest jendays I have seen. With silver eyes and orange and red plumage, she’s hard to walk past in the aviary.

Terra, the blue and gold macaw.

In this photo Terra is ‘blushing’.
Some species of macaws blush, and it’s theorised they do this as a form of visual communication. They will blush in heightened states, such as excitement or fear.
This photo was taken when she was excited to see me, she coupled her blushing with dancing and using words I say to call her.

Happy new year everyone!
We hope everyone has stayed safe and enjoyed their break.
So far 2024 hasn’t been too kind, we’ve been dealing with flooding in our area, followed by massive swarms of mosquitoes.
Despite this, we’ve managed to complete several aviarys and move birds to larger, spacious flights.

This is one of those pairs, our plumheads.
The cockbird is a pastel, and hen greygreen.
From this pairing we will have 50% greygreen and 50% wildtype with 100% of the offspring being split pastel.
Plumheads are placid asiatic birds (when compared to conures), with the cockbirds developing a bright cherry red head by the age of 2-4. The head colour development on the cockbirds is typically associated with them reaching sexual maturity, however there have been a few breeders that have reported having clutches from uncoloured birds.

Blue cleartail Indian ringnecks. Currently parents to two healthy chicks. This pair laid earlier in the year but the hen broke the eggs. A few weeks later she went down again and has been happily rearing her bubs.
