Some Exciting opportunities for families looking at welcoming a young adult Brittany into their life in 2025/2026.

If you live in Victoria, happy to help us with our guardian program and love Brittanies now is the time to reach out.

Fabulous temperaments, house trained, crated trained, walk on loose leash, love kids and everyone they meet, happy go lucky, excellent with other dogs, love to cuddle on the couch or explore, just to name a few of their favourite amazing attributes.

Of course they are vaccinated, wormed and have clean bill of health.

Ideal home would be a family willing to help us give back to this amazing breed. One that is active and love to include their dogs in their daily life’s.

Or an aspiring gundog enthusiast or future breeder who would love to get into the breed and participate in comformation shows as well as agility, obedience, retrieving, field trials etc…

Keep our guardian dog Celeste in your thoughts tonight as she was bitten by a young Tiger snake today…
She’s currently in the best hands at our vets.

First time we’ve had a dog bitten in all our years of owning dogs and being on property so I do consider myself very lucky I havent had to face this type of day before.

Lucky also my vet closes at 7:30pm and it’s a weekday so more staff are on. And the bestest staff they are.

She’s our one and only and all that know her know she’s the bestest girl.

Stay safe everyone this snake season is looking bad….

This is a post to this day I didn’t think I’d have to make but seems perception and not having the ability to walk into someone’s shoes is becoming more common these days.

Why did I choose to breed dogs?
To make sure good dogs were joining families.
May it be families with children or families that want to compete and of course families who want to give back and families who need help.
I want to make a difference in this crazy fast pace, device focused world we now live in.

How much does it take to breed dogs?
Honestly your heart and soul, everything in your bank account and more.
24/7 care 365days a year, no holidays and your entire life ready to cater for the four legs every needs. You family life and social life also takes a real hit. No sleep in ever and many many tears but definitely happiness too.
The pain of loosing puppies and adult dogs you brought into this world to puppies and adult dogs thriving in the roles and abilities they were born with.
You bank account always on zero because you spend it all making sure they have the best food and the vet bills are paid.

What does it take to do it ethically, with health in mind, with the knowleged that diversity means a better chance at a healthy long life and an upbringing that means they can cope with life and are a fab citizen?
Everything you have and more because, the only paycheck you get you get is the smiles when the families pick up their puppies and the occational message. Other times thanks and a photo.
Those means the world and worth more than any paycheck.
When it cost $20-30k to import a dog from overseas and you decided you’d want to give back to oz small gene pool and import 10dogs over a period of 6years…. With quarantine, ankc requirements, council requirements and the list goes on how many hoops and bills you have to pay to tick all the required boxes so that maybe your vision takes reality in time. Ask again why?

So why continue?
Because this hobby makes me get up in the morning, because I feel I contribute, which fulfills my soul.
I don’t need the praise and thanks to my support network I don’t need money in the account (unless it’s for them), I’m lucky I get to do what I love and am good at it.

That’s my reward.
So everytime you buy a puppy from an ethical breeder remember how lucky you are, because the moment you try to do it yourself you’ll realise what it takes and it’s so much more than everyone realises.
My previous careers of working 3 jobs for years doesn’t even come close.
It’s not even a lifestyle it’s a life long calling and everything around you will be affected by it, positively and negatively.
