Time to bring out your best pumpkin recipes.
Roasted pumpkin, pine nuts and fetta salad is one of our favourites.
But … Is it too early for pumkin soup…
Or perhaps pumkin scones…

Market update
Fruit
• Best value this week: Keitt mangoes, new season Royal Gala and Fuji apples, passionfruit, white grapes, lemons and limes, rockmelons, pears and pomegranates
• Bananas, watermelon and stone fruit has tightened up a little
• Figs are now sold in (cardboard) punnets of 5, to prevent damage when packed loose.

Vegetables
• The biggest drop this week is for broccoli: we’re expecting it to come in below $6 a kilo. The other value veggies are J*P pumkin, sugar snap (around $13 a kilo), green cabbages ($2.66), kale and silverbeet – all from George Portelli, cucumbers, chillies and daikon
• Most tomato varieties are up, as are most herbs and Asian greens due to weather. This will take another 4 weeks to resolve itself. In the meantime, members should use lieafy greens within a few days.
• Broccolini is back but still very scarce and expensive. Broccoli is a better option.

New season peaches and nectarines now available from Box Divvy!

You know summer is not far off when the stone fruit season gets underway. These beauties have been available for a few weeks now, and the stonefruit season is open. They’re not large yet, but eat well – and they’re a tad over $12 a kilo. In a week’s time, they’re bound to be cheaper…but who wants to wait??
