We are sadly unable to see large animal house calls ie; horses, cattle etc. 🐴 🐮 🐷 🐑 🐐 🦙

However sheep, goats, alpacas that can be seen in clinic we are able to accomodate.

The wonderful teams at The veterinary surgery Yarrambat and North Warrandyte or Yea veterinary hospital may be able to assist when required.

🏠 🐾🎄 Christmas chaos🎄🐾🏠

At such a busy time of the year we often forget those last minute things to organise.

If your pet is on medication or prescription food it is important you are prepared.
Our last available time to order medication from our suppliers is Thursday the 19th of December.

To ensure we can supply your pet with their medication please give us a minimum of 48 hours notice to dispense or a week for compounded medication.

Farewell Dr Michael Franklin!

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Michael.

Michael is trading the country life for city life to persue his passion and further study in specialised surgical techniques.

Michael's last day is Friday 13th December.

We wish Michael all the very best with his future endeavours!

With the warmer weather coming please be aware of snakes.

Signs of snake bite...

Major presenting signs:
Weakness, usually affecting hindlimbs first
In-coordination/ataxia
Lethargy/’floppy cat’
Collapse
Vomiting
Hypersalivation
Panting and laboured breathing
Dilated pupils

Less common presenting signs:
Red/bloody urine
Facial or localised paralysis
Altered sound to bark/vocalisation
Muscle pain
Bite site evident (very rare to be able to see but occasionally there is some bleeding from a fang puncture wound)

Signs may begin minutes after a bite (dogs can initially collapse and then seem to recover)

In some cases signs may develop later, even up to a few days after a bite.

Your pet may exhibit all or only a few of these signs.

If you suspect your pet may have been bitten by a snake, or is found in the vicinity of a snake, please call your NEAREST vet clinic and be guided by them.
