Admin Jess here. I believe in full disclosure in rescue, because we need to be seen as trustworthy to truly make a difference in dogs lives and animal welfare.
I could have just deleted his post and pretended we never shared it, but that's not fair to all the applications we got or those who follow and support us, and certainly doesn't honour his life or advocate for puppies in other pounds.....

So with stream of tears and a broken heart, I'm here to tell you we were too late to save this little man.
We did get the save, but he was already very sick.

I had to wait until today to get a full update as all I knew from late Friday was that he was "unavailable" all of a sudden which could mean anything but usually isn't good.

On Friday at the pound he was deteriorating very quickly and upon vet check the decision was made to put him to sleep for medical reasons, diagnosis unknown.

Please do not throw hate at the pound either, it wont bring him back or help other puppies dumped in the pound, they really did all they could for him even a vaccination which is more than most.
We only saw him last week but he had been there for several weeks already. So he was very young when he entered, likely when this picture was taken also.

PUPPIES DO NOT BELONG IN POUNDS as they really do face significant health risk there, they are newborns who are still building an immune system.
Since the introduction of pound drop boxes it's so common to have random pups with no background info at all dropped of almost daily in every region.

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Advocate for puppies in your local community being sold online or worse yet in carparks at shopping centres (yep its back since the FB ban on animal sales) and suggest they contact rescues. If you see a puppy impounded in your local area shelter and you can foster them to at least to get them to safety and away from germs, then reach out to a rescue yourself.
If its a BA you know who to ask, US!

Last but not least desex your dogs and encourage everyone you know to do the same!
