Christmas Holiday Weather & Fire Announcement

Dear valued Client,

As you know we are closed for the following Christmas Holiday dates – 25, 26, 27 & 28 December as well as the 1st of January.

That being the case, our phones will be unattended during these times.

Should an unexpected severe weather event or Bushfire occur, we will make public announcements on our page – Four Way Kennels.

In the unlikely event that we are directly affected by an imminent & significant threat, we will contact you individually by phone to keep you informed & those communication lines will be kept open until the threat has passed.

Painting of Kennels finished

Well, another milestone project has been completed at our Kennels this week.

After approximately 6 months, the entire internals of our Kennels have been painted and the results are wonderful as you can see from the attached photos.

We’d like to thank Kerrie Power for taking care of the majority of the painting and Michelle Dodunski for finishing off the last section.

We’re so pleased with the result 😀👍.

Emergency Response

Good morning All,

Firstly, regarding the fires around Bundaberg and specifically the Kinkuna fire, the Kennel is in no way threatened so everyone here is safe.

If, in the event that there is any kind of emergency that threatens the kennels, we will respond firstly with a general notification on our page, and for those who have dogs under our care, we will notify you individually.

If there is no threat, there will be no notification.

New Kennel Booking System

Afternoon All,

With all the changes happening at the kennels why not add one more right?

Over the last 20 years we have been using a Microsoft Excel based booking system which has provided us a terrific level of flexibility but is extremely reliant on human input and control.

Such a manual system can become very laborious and maximises the possibility human error during the booking process.

That being the case we are in the process of critiquing an Australian based automated booking system specifically created for Boarding Kennels.

Our initial assessment of the program has proven to be very promising hence we will continue to gain a greater understanding prior to signing up & rolling it out in our facility.

We believe that the eventual implementation of this booking program will help generate significant improvement in our booking process so please stay tuned.

Change of Hours, New Phone Number and New Website

Hi All,

Well it’s been a while coming but sometime this week our new website will be released.

There’s a lot more to the website than the old one and there are some critical points to note as follows-

Our new phone number (0475787599) will be shown and our old landline number will not. The landline number will be available until the end of the month but it’ll be disconnected after that.We have new hours as follows-

a) Tuesday Permanent Closure- As of next week we will be closed permanently on Tuesdays. Anyone who has bookings on a Tuesday will be contacted.

b) Office (Phone) Hours - As of the date of release of the new website our phone will be manned from 8:30am to 5pm.

c) Pick Up & Drop Off Times - As of the date of release of the new website our Pick Up & Drop Off Times will be 6:30am to 4:30pm. Our gate will still be open till 5pm in case of emergency but we’re trying to avoid the inevitable requests for arrivals after 5pm which is a common occurrence. The FWK Team do 11hr shifts so it’s a long day.

We know this is a lot to digest so if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Extended Hours - Tuesday 3rd October-

Hi All,

As next Monday the 1st of October is a public holiday after a weekend we’re extending the hours on Tuesday the 2nd.

Normally our hours are 6:30 to 9am on Tuesday but for next Tuesday our extended hours are 6:30 to midday.

Extended Stays This Weekend-

Hi All,

As you can probably understand, this being the last weekend of the school holidays, we are basically booked out, and in many cases, we’ve got dogs coming in on the same day as dogs exiting the same pen.

We understand that this can cause some frustration as can unexpected, last minute extensions to stays.

Conversely, stays that are unexpectedly shortened can cause clients to miss out on a stay they really did need.

As such, we’re asking everyone to have a really good think about the duration you’re booking for as it can have a significant effect, especially in these busy times.

Taking Home Your Leads & Harnesses

Hi All,

Over the last few months we’ve been trying, with mixed success, to get people to take home their leads and harnesses rather than leave them at the kennels - especially on the pen doors.

We’ve had several clients lose their leads/harnesses which is worrying as we suspect some have been stolen.

These items aren’t cheap and we feel bad when a situation like this arises so we hope you understand that it’s better for all concerned for your dogs to be moved around using our leads etc than risk losing yours.

We hope you understand that this approach will be better for all concerned.

Permanent Tuesday Closure

Dear All,

As of Tuesday the 24th of October we will be officially making Tuesdays a permanent closure day.

We’re finding that the couple of hours we’re currently open Tuesday morning is creating confusion versus our regular hours of 6:30am to 5:00pm & this has resulted in several recent incidents of Clients entering our premises significantly after closure on several Tuesdays despite the premises being locked up.

Clients with existing bookings on Tuesdays after the 24th of October will be contacted & we’ll negotiate terms, but after the 24th of October, no further bookings will be taken for Tuesdays.

We trust that this alteration could create some inconvenience, so we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Introducing the newest members of the Four Way Kennels Team Ning & Yi our Fu Dogs!!!

In Chinese mythology, Fu Dogs are symbols of prosperity, success and guardianship.

Ning, our female representing Ying is to the right of our entrance way & has her paw on a puppy she is protecting & Yi representing Yang is to the left with his paw on a ball.

Make sure you give them a pat to bring yourself good luck the next time you’re visiting the kennels!!!

Charging per Night vs per Day

Howdy All,

We’re not sure if everyone understands the difference between being charged by the night vs by the day so we thought we’d explain.

Firstly, we charge by the night to be clear.

As an example, if you bring your dog in on a Friday at 6:30am and pick him up on Saturday at 5pm you pay for one night - that’s $28.

At a kennel charging per day you’d pay $56 (2 x $28) so equivalently we’re half price for this example.

We hope this clarifies the difference between paying per night and paying per day for you.

With the beginning of the new financial year, we have chosen to accelerate the timeline of an exciting new project which we are hoping will make our facility a centre of excellence for dog care in the Bundaberg region.

As you know, we care deeply about dogs and we’re certainly not scared to try something new, therefore after analysing the region’s dog care related market, we decided that we would put our hand up to provide the Bundaberg region with its first dog hydrotherapy facility.

The 6m long x 2.2m wide, state of the art heated swim spa with variable speed swim jets supported by a purpose built access ramp and mezzanine floor will be covered by a shade sail system and enclosed by commercial standard pool fencing and privacy screening systems.

The facility is designed to be hired out to vets and dog care professionals to assist with health related dog care.

We’ve chosen to place this new facility in the field to the east of the entrance to our kennels, so when you’re bringing your dog into reception, look left and you’ll see where the new facility will be located - near the new external kennel runs.

At this point we’ve just purchased the new swim spa and will shortly be engaging the services of a Concreter to pour the slab to support the facility.

Discount 2 - 20 Day Discount

Good morning All,

The second discount that will come into effect as of 1 July 23 & will be measured from financial year to financial year is our 20 Day Discount.

To qualify for our 20 Day Discount program, your stays will be recorded & once your pup accumulates 20 days a 10% discount will apply for subsequent stays until the end of that financial year.

Naturally we appreciate your repeat business so if you’d like to be a part of our 20 Day Discount program please let us know and we’ll set you up.

Please note that in the event that multiple discounts apply to your pups stay, the greater single discount will apply.

Discount 1 - Long Stay Discount

Good afternoon All,

This is the first of a series of discounts that will be introduced on the 1st of July 23 and is called the Long Stay Discount.

The L*D will apply to a stay that is longer than 2 weeks in duration where a 12.5% discount will apply to the time spent after 2 weeks.

For example, your dog stays for 5 weeks, the discount will apply to the last 3 weeks of the stay, so where you would pay for 35 nights at $28/night equating to $980 without the discount, the 12.5% discount on the last 3 weeks would reduce the total price to $906.

New 6 Bay External Enclosures

We are proud to announce the completion of our 6 Bay External Enclosure Project which was finished today with the installation of the Shade Sails which cover 60% of the 2.2m x 15m run areas.

The installation was performed by Shade Sails 4 U who we highly recommend as their quality of work is outstanding as are their prices. For all your Shade Sail needs call Anthony on 0401545434.

Being a natural surface, the maintenance of the grass will be ongoing therefore the pens will be re-turfed on a regular basis.

The runs were installed by Brendan’s Landscaping who we can’t recommend highly enough. For all of your fencing and landscaping needs call Brendan on 0432793382.

Internal Standard Runs-
1 dog per Night- $28 per dog per Night
2 or more dogs- $26 per dog per Night

Day care - Internal Standard Runs-
$20 per dog per day

New External 6 Bay Runs -

1 Dog per Night- $40 per dog

2 Dogs per Night- $80

3 Dogs per Night- $100

4 Dogs per Night- $120



New Internal Double Bay Runs -

1 Dog per Night- $35

2 Dogs or more per Night- $30 per dog per Night.

Future Discount System -

In an effort to reward our loyal Clientele, we are shortly going to announce a new discount system which should begin along with the above mentioned revised pricing list at the start of July.



The DS will reward those who choose to-

have their pups stay over a long period of time anduse our facilities frequently.
