Pucker Farm Animal Sanctuary

Pucker Farm Animal Sanctuary In January of 2015 I bought a 138 acre farm in Kondinin to set up a Farm Animal Sanctuary with 26 sheep, 2 goats, 2 cats, 2 Maremma dogs & various chickens.

We've grown to 40 sheep, 1 goat, 1 cat, 2 dogs, 1 pig, 3 donkeys, 2 horses, 2 Dexters........ Pucker Farm Animal Sanctuary is a NFP - actually that's a bit hilarious as it's not even close to making a profit and if it did of course all would get plugged back into Pucker Farm Animal Sanctuary. Truth is all (or most) of my spare money goes into it - and I can't think of a better way to spend it. Of

course more is always welcome and my gorgeous friend donates each month which goes a long way to covering feed. I have an amazing friend who volunteers - when I was in hospital having nearly died for a couple of months at the end of 2019 - he looked after all my animals - he is just a gem.

I was surprised by this life expectancy for sheep (10-12 years for domesticated sheep) - I have had several who have reached well over that - around 15 years old - so maybe one of mine will reach the 20 year mark - but they do get treated better than your average oldie in an old people's home!

People demonise foxes but I always feel blessed when I see them out and about - they are very beautiful!

This is a great website - I was so happy to find it - I came across it whilst researching care for the older sheep - well if you were an older sheep and you had the care taken of you that they recommend - you'd be better off than most oldies in Australia. Take a look if you have an animal sanctuary, want to set one up or look after animals - it's info seems top notch!

I have been receiving guests via airbnb for almost 2 months now & despite being quite a bit of extra work - it's proving to be very popular. Please feel free to pass details onto anyone you know who you think would be interested in a stay at Pucker Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Private room in Kondinin, Australia. Great place to stay if you are visiting Wave Rock or on your way to or from Esperance. Walk around the 138 acre property with it's granite outcrops, Woolshed, old farm machinery, good views, sheep, cows... Meet Bilbo the lamb, Munchie the goa...

I couldn't find Angus last night and assumed he was with the sheep, but this morning when I checked, he wasn't with them. I was concerned so I did a search and found him stuck in the hen house - he couldn't get out so I had to pull him out by his legs. Hopefully he won't be doing that again!

We had a fabulous weekender at Pucker Farm Animal Sanctuary. Archie and Luca named the 2 new Dexters Coconut and Bananas - very fitting names for cows! The weather was good to us miraculously. Everyone helped out so much that I wanted to imprison them all here and not let them leave. The boys and Jessica helped me feed all the animals which was great. A love affair was struck up between nino and cherpy - so much so I thought I would have to frisk him on him leaving to ensure he wasn't smuggling out any feathery creatures. We had a big bonfire under a star light sky whilst Sarah shovelled hot coals under our chairs to keep us warm on a very cold night. Thank you guys for making the weekend such a success and it was great to catch up. I will post photos when I get them from Leon. By the way let the Dexters out of their field and they spent the next few hours exploring the property - they had the time of their lives - coco doing a little jump and they followed me back home to their field again - it was magical!
