When you don’t have time to take an after photo before you need the rug again.
Before and after of a cotton that is used daily on a pony that loves to roll in the mud and as an under rug overnight.
This rug was very dirty but it shows you just what your water proof rugs can hide if you don’t have an under rug on. It also means that you don’t have to wait for your over night rugs to dry.

Washing your saddle blankets is something that you should be doing often as your horse sweat drys on them it can rub and irritate the skin.
Keeping them clean and dry will also prolong the use of them.
I promise your ponies will thank you for it 🐴

Pick Your Moment 🤓

Weekends like these make me very grateful for a moment of calm. The weather this weekend was not very nice (to put it mildly) but today I decided to find 15mins to take the old boy for a wonder and boy did I pick the perfect time. A small walk down the road was an achievement with this weather.

I am so sorry to everyone for being so quiet lately I have had a lot going on.

It’s a long weekend which means I hope everyone has time to put their feet up and relax but also to spend some extra time with their ponies 🦄

As the warmer wether has begun to hit us, how to do you keep your ponies entertained and cool ?
I have found that my horses love frozen carrots. It’s simple and easy(as long as you remember to put them in the freezer the night before). They love to play with them and it takes them that bit longer to eat.

Top Tip Tuesday
If your horse eats a lot of hay it is a good idea to add salt to their diet as this will increase the amount of water they drink. This will reduce the likely hood of a gut impaction.

Sometimes things are not as they appear....
I thought the back colour of this neck rug was beige and I was definitely wrong, it’s actually cream almost white.

Its shedding season !!

As our ponies are losing their winter coat and everything we oen is now covered in hair I have had a few clients ask about what is classified as excessive hair. If you cant tell what colour the item is due to the hair it will be classied as excessive, I would never expect there to to be no hair. Below is a quick snippet of my mare today after spending 15 minutes brushing the same spot.

I was lucky enough over the weekend to spend some time in Rawson experiencing some of the amazing trails. It was a perfect change from our normal work outs and very good for our fitness. What have you been up to over the holidays with your equine friends ?
