K9 & Feline Instincts Premium Natural Food & Treats for Dogs & Cats Approximately 10 years ago my little mate (a long hair Chihuahua, called Tipsy) began having seizures.
(19)

I eventually figured out it was the preservatives in the food I was feeding him! In particular it was Sulphur Dioxide Poisoning. I was shocked that commercial pet food nearly killed my best mate...

Once I transitioned to feeding a more natural/raw diet his seizures reduced & eventually after a few months they stopped completely. I am very proud to say Tipsy lived 7 additional seizure free years.

I lost him at age 17 due to old age & dementia. Ever since Tipsy fell ill I have been researching how to make & improve the MOST NATURAL & HEALTHY/HEALING Food for my own pets. I am now a Qualified Holistic Animal Nutritionist. I have many regular customers & I help them with many different health issues through a healthy raw diet. Its not an easy job but I love what I do & seeing a dog or cat transform into a healthy & happy pet & helping owners make healthier/happier choices makes it all worthwhile! We all want food that's convenient & I've created dog & cat food that's not only convenient but its SUPER HEALTHY, very affordable & your pets will thank you for it! The Myth That Will Not Die: Kibble Cleans Pets’ Teeth

It’s not true that dry kibble or Milk Bones (or any other brand of crunchy, carb-based pet cookies) keep pet’s teeth clean – raw diets, raw bones and regular brushing do! ❌ If you still believe this silly myth, think again.

ALL HAIL MOTHER NATURE’S ORIGINAL SUPERFOOD FOR DOGS🐶, THE ALMIGHTY EGG🥚 AKA NATURE’S MULTIVITAMIN!

When sourcing the perfect longevity snack for your dog, the humble egg🥚 should be at the top of your list! If there was such a thing as a perfect food for pets, it would be eggs. They are rich in bioavailable amino acids, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals while being relatively low in calories and carbs. Whether from chicken🐔, quail, or ducks🦆, eggs are nature’s nutrition bombs!

Eggs🥚 contain all ten essential amino acids needed to support effective muscle growth, recovery and maintenance. Eggs are also rich in choline, a nutrient crucial to the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain, which aids brain function, memory, and may help treat & even prevent “doggy dementia”.🧠

Lastly, research shows as many as 60% of dogs have signs of arthritis🦴, on x-rays, and one veterinary study found dogs who consumed egg shell membrane had significantly less joint pain, so start feeding your pets more eggs as treats!

What’s the best way to feed an egg?🍳

The fastest method, obviously, is to offer them raw… this is how animals have been eating eggs for millennia. However, according to science, lightly cooking the egg protein (called avidin) makes the B vitamin biotin easier to absorb but if you opt to cook you eggs, remember to not overcook them! Logically, applying too much heat to good food is a naturally destructive process. The chemistry of heating foods looks a lot like unwinding molecules, for better or for worse. Heating egg whites is generally beneficial, however, the yolks would do better with less heat, because heat damages fats and vital nutrients inside.

Soft boiled is the ultimate way to cook an egg🥚 (this is when you boil an egg, but it’s still a little runny and the yolk is definitely not hard) because the fats and nutrients in the yolk essentially have three protective layers from oxidation – the water, eggshell, and egg white. This way, all of the good stuff in the egg yolk is maximally preserved while the whites are cooked enough for best protein utilization and removal of avidin.

Instructions for soft boiling:
Fill a medium pot with water and heat to a gentle simmer, just below boiling. Using a slotted spoon, carefully lower the eggs into the water and let simmer for 7 minutes (6 minutes for a runnier egg).

When choosing eggs, go for pastured, free-range eggs to get the most nutrients. One egg is about seventy calories. My 30lb dog Shubie gets an egg on her meal several times a week.

In our new book, The Forever Dog, we list over 40 of our favorite longevity foods you add to your pup’s bowl, backed by the most surprising new science as to why they’re so amazing at building health and longevity! 🐶 Dogs and Cats 🐱 = ✅Carnivores, ❌Vegan

The ultra-processed pet food industry is promoting another diet (especially for dogs) that is neither species-appropriate nor nutritionally optimal for pets: non-meat plant-based/vegan diets. 👎

Just like other types of dry pet food, vegan ultra-processed pet food is highly processed under harsh temperatures, resulting in vegan “fast food” for pets. Vegan pet foods are high starch diets, with a large amount of synthetic vitamins, minerals, amino acid powders and processed vegan protein concentrates to be able to meet minimal nutritional requirements of biologically non-vegan animals.

Dogs and cats do not have a carbohydrate requirement, this should tell you something about what’s needed and not needed, nutritionally. Common sense says feeding only carbs to animals that need none is a bad idea, long term, and because there are no long-term studies evaluating the safety or efficacy of vegan diets fed to facultative carnivores, your pets ARE the experiments. 👎❗

Visit today’s free pet health article to learn more about why you shouldn’t feed plant-based ultra-processed foods to non-vegan animals.

Beware of Products That Contain “Birch Sugar” (aka XYLITOL) ⚠️

Xylitol (or "birch sugar") is a natural sweetener that is highly toxic to pets and can be found in a wide range of health and beauty products, lots of “healthy” human snack foods, over-the-counter drugs and supplements, and prescription medications. Make sure to check labels in products for this ingredient, and if they do contain xylitol, keep them out of your pet’s reach at all costs❗

For more potentially harmful foods/ingredients that you should keep away from your pets, read today’s article linked below.

Are you feeding your dog too often? ⏰🍗⏰🥩⏰🥕🐶

Dogs fed once a day are less likely to be diagnosed with age-related conditions than pooches fed more often, study claims.

In the largest largest study to date of feeding frequency conducted in companion dogs, University of Arizona-led experts analyzed data on 24,238 pet dogs from the US and found:

• Being fed once a day lowered the risk of nine types of canine health problems
• These included cancer, dental issues and either kidney or urinary complications
• Similarly, dogs fed only once daily scored lower on tests of cognitive problems
• But the team said it is too early to advise owners to change their pet's diets

“We view these results as an exciting first step of an ongoing exploration of the impact of diet on companion dogs living in human environments. Given the intense interest in, and popularization of, ‘longevity diets’ such as intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding, these types of studies in dogs are both timely and important. We believe these studies will ultimately offer insights into factors that promote health and longevity for both dogs and humans.” - The Dog Aging Project

The scientists and researchers we interviewed for The Forever Dog book agreed that one meal a day for healthy dogs is ideal, in terms of maximizing autophagy and minimizing metabolic stress.

To learn how to transition your pup to a new eating schedule and create an eating window (which allows your pup to receive the benefits of intermittent fasting while offering the same amount of food) check out the section in our book “Personalized Meals as Medicine” found here: www.foreverdog.com

What you choose to put in your puppy’s bowl 🥄at an early stage can literally affect their whole life, not to mention your bank account💳 with future vet bills if you decide to add nothing to their food!

“I only feed my dog their kibble, I NEVER give them anything else!” was once a proud pet owner statement, but microbiome🦠 research proves this is a BIG mistake. Study after study shows the more diverse your pet’s bowl is, the healthier their gut and immune system can become.

A brand new study from Finnish Veterinary Scientists shows healthy human food🍗🥦 leftovers offered to puppies significantly reduces allergy symptoms and skin problems later in life. This long-term, protective effect increased the more often real foods were added, so the more exposure puppies had to a variety of healthy leftovers, the more protection there was from developing skin issues down the road.

“…even if the dog🐶 eats 80% of its food as dry, adding a minimum of 20% of the food as raw significantly decreased the risk of AASS [allergic skin disease] later in life.” – Dr. Anna Hielm-Björkman

According to the scientists, feeding a variety raw or minimally processed, real food early in life may lead to microbial exposure that enhances the immune system early on, reducing allergic responses later in life. Some of the foods owners fed in this study were fish🐟 and meats🥩, vegetables🍆 and roots🍠, culinary mushrooms🍄, buttermilk and other fermented milk products🥛 and berries🫐.

In our new book, The Forever Dog, we list over 40 of our favorite fresh foods from the fridge to add to your dog’s bowl, backed by the most surprising new science as to why they’re so amazing at building health and longevity! Please ensure your pets are getting everything they need in their diet.

It is simply impossible for us to make each meal 'complete & balanced' as many pet foods claim to be.

This is because we do not add any synthetic vitamins or minerals to our products. We use organic oils as they are better for your pets & It is up to you to ensure you are adding the additional; essential items to your pets diet.

It is better to balance your pets meals over a week or two than try to do it with every meal. In the wild animals forage & balance their diets over time.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need any further assistance.

Our Story - Why we make RAW Natural Pet Food

To cut a long story short - after my little mate, a long hair Chihuahua began having seizures later in life & after many unsuccessful visits to many different vets & trying lots of different meds that simply did not work, I began researching & finally figured out it was the preservatives in the food I was feeding. I had to come to terms with the fact that I was killing my little mate without even realising it!

Ever since then (for about 8 years) I have been researching how to provide the MOST NATURAL & HEALTHY Food for our own pets. Then I had an idea! - What if I made this food on a larger scale & helped other people with their pets diet/health issues... Needless to say it has become my passion!

I am currently studying a Holistic Animal Nutrition Course online & I am really enjoying the journey to healthier Cats & Dogs. We are even eating healthier! Our own animals are most definitely healthier.

I am also working alongside a very trusted Naturopath - Kerry Allman (Natural Healing for Animals). All of the products I have tried from Kerry have worked wonders. I cannot recommend her enough!
