Hunter Wildlife Rescue, NATF Inc have begun support feeds and refilling water stations on the edges of the fire ground. We cannot enter any fire grounds until we have clearance from our friends at the RFS - as there could be unstable trees, embers alight, hidden holes or water bombing occurring, not to mention the fire itself and spot fires.
As much as we love the help, please don't enter the fireground, as well as being unsafe, it can make the firies job alot harder taking focus from fires to move people out of the area.
Hunter Wildlife Rescue volunteers will be easily spotted, in hard hats, and vests refilling water stations and providing feed. If you see us, your more than welcome to come and say hello - I promise we're friendly 😉
If you'd like to help, we ask that you leave some water in a shallow dish on your property for animals that are desperately thirsty now, and if you can add a stick to assist any small animals to climb out of the water should they get stuck.
