Expressions of Interest❗️❗️❗️ Saddle Fitting Clinic on Sun 12 Jan 2025 at Kookaburra Park Equestrian Centre 🥳

Ian Huxley from Blue Creek Saddles & Trails End Saddles will provide a comprehensive fitting clinic, focussed on western and fender saddles. If you don't have your own, demo saddles available!

WHAT TO EXPECT:
☑️ You will be guided through the features of new saddles
☑️ Insights on what to look for when purchasing a second-hand saddle
☑️ He’ll also evaluate your current saddle fit and discuss the most suitable sizes and types of pads
☑️ Opportunity to order a custom-fit saddle through this experience

COSTS:
$220 per horse (includes a $100 non-refundable deposit)
$50 Fence Sitters.
Enjoy tea, coffee, and light refreshments throughout the day.

We wanted to share another drawing from self-taught artist, Jill Collins, who was a fence-sitter for a recent Josh Knight clinic at Kookaburra Park. Capturing many incredible moments over the weekend, we wanted to share this beautiful drawing showing Mandy and her adorable horse, Nolle. If you're an advanced rider looking to perfect your technique, build your confidence and prepare for competition, then lessons with Anne Hall is a MUST! Anne has a Bachelor of Arts (Education), years of experience as a coach and competition trainer for world-class riders, including the Young Ambassador of the Year (show horse) and Assistant Coach for the Australian Paralympics team. She knows all aspects of competition, being a judge in multiple events and having a long-standing career competing in many comps herself. A fantastic day for the Women in Western Social Support Group, who recently held their gathering at Kookaburra Park. This is an amazing group of women all share a love of horses and are committed to supporting one another in their personal journeys. This group is a reminder that our stallions do more for our mental health than anything else! In the recent Josh Knight clinic, we had self-taught artist, Jill Collins, fence-sitting. This creative talent came with her toolkit and captured some incredible moments over the weekend. We were so impressed, that we needed to share one of her beautiful drawings - see this moment captured of Craig and his horse Bubbles!
Jill works with biro, pencils and oil paints and is open to doing personalised drawings of people with their animals. You can contact Jill on 0408 381 571 to find out more.

Another successful 'All the Gear, No Idea' session last month, with a very, VERY full day - we had multiple new recruits and much to be learnt from trainer, Sally Hudson. However, the MVPs (most valuable players) of the day were our fence sitters, who brought all the laughs and kept energies up high - with a few cheeky brewskies and wines in tow. Another shout out to Catherine, who brought along the most delicious home-made Apple Crumble! YUM!

Thank you to all those who attended, it was another fantastic day.

Last week we hosted a clinic by Knights Equestrian which was well-received by all. Josh was able to impart knowledge and expertise in Liberty, and Liberty coaching. He also made the weekend fun for all attendees. As all participants are interested to continue growing their Liberty skills, we are looking forward to getting Josh back again for more clinics and lesson days.

Kookaburra Park hosted a 2-day Liberty Clinic with Sandi Simons in December last year - the event was booked out well in advance, with many interested to participate. It was a fantastic weekend, with all involved keen to get home and play in their round yards immediately to put into practice their new Liberty skills.

Kookaburra Park hosted the 2-day 'Natural Rhythm Equine' clinic in October last year with April Harvey. This event was focused on building solid foundations of a soft, confident, and willing horse. April assisted attendees with behaviourism and introduced aspects from the mindful practices of meditation and yogic philosophies into her teaching.
