Merry Christmas to all my furry friends and their fur parents and families. Thank you all so much for a fantastic year here at Paws. I hope your furry children enjoy some family time with lots of fun games and of course treats.

Goose The Samoyed and Carney (my twin brother's kitty) have more presents under our tree than anyone else!

Just a note to let you all know that you are more than welcome to book through to Christmas next year. As I am now booked around 10 weeks ahead and am not offering as many appointments next year due to dropping 2 late nights, I encourage you to keep at least 3-4 appointments ahead to avoid disappointment.

We can always change them if something pops up on your calendar. This service is only for regular clients that visit often. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please text, email or facebook/instagram message as we just don't have time to answer calls. Lots of love and pats from Abbey, Sharni-Lee, Beth, Breeanna and Abbi.

Hi Everyone! 🧡
This is just a courtesy reminder to let you know that we are fully booked until the end of January. We do have a waitlist you can join however there are currently 50 people on the list as of this post!

Important reminders:

🧡 please make sure your dogs are flea and tick treated at least a few days before coming in for their appointment. We have seen an influx of dogs with ticks and fleas which have put us behind on multiple days as we have to fully disinfect / treat the shop every time. We won’t be able to groom your dog if it has fleas and it will be sent home and the appointment will still have to be paid for.

🧡 please be patient with us during this time of year! It is very busy and we are doing our best to get your dogs groomed on time. However, as dogs are unpredictable, they sometimes take longer than others, so we don’t always run on time. We will not tolerate abuse, and it is not needed as we are trying our best.
Also please wait for us to text you. We will let you know when your pup is ready for pick up! It’s very distracting for them when you come back early and makes it harder for us to groom them when they are jumping around the table with excitement and sharp instruments on the table. It's very dangerous!

We can’t wait to see you in the salon
Lots of love
Paws 🧡

Jimmy absolutely loves coming in for his spa days and today he brought a little friend, Little Jimmy or LJ for short 🥰

So because LJ does such a good job at supporting our big boy JimJam he finally had his much deserved spa day! It started with a nice warm bath and blow-dry, followed by a brush out and trim. Jimmy came and supported LJ whilst he was getting his haircut 🥹.

Jimmy then had his spa treatment and we had to pose together because they’re just so adorable!! 💜💜

Good morning all my fluffy puppers and kitties. Just a little note to let you all know that the rest of the year is now fully booked. I have kept aside a very small amount of December bookings for my regular besties but please tell your pawrents that they need to book December now.

Please ask them not to wait until your next appointment and then book as they will have to wait until January. I am receiving around 50-60 phone calls a day and just cannot keep up with them so please ask your pawrents to text, message or email me which helps keep me organised.

I have around 125 voicemails to get through from the weekend so will try my best to help everyone I can.

Any regular fur babies are welcome to tack onto the waitlist but any new clients I won't be able to see until next year.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Hi all my floofy friends

The rest of the year is just about fully booked so just reminding my regular clients to please stay at least two appointments ahead. Booking for your next appointment at time of groom is leaving people disappointed and having to stretch out their grooms longer than usual.

The whole of December is reserved for regular clients only.

I am no longer opening on Wednesday or Thursday nights so now closing at 5pm but still opening late on Fridays.

Please text on 0498 288 708, email ([email protected]) or facebook/instagram message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Have a lovely day and give all your floofy boys and girls a pat from my wonderful team. Take care, Abbey, Sharni-Lee, Beth, Breeanna, Abbi and Goose The Samoyed

Hello to all my furry friend parents

Appointments are filling extremely quickly for the rest of the year.

To avoid disappointment if you would like an appointment or two before Christmas please book soon. The 3 weeks before Christmas will be reserved for regular clients only. I won’t be accepting any new clients for those 3 weeks prior to Christmas. I have always vowed never to close my books which I won’t, but I don’t want my regular floofy friends to miss out on impressing their families on Christmas Day with their cuteness.

There are a few spots left from mid-October onwards so get in quick.

I am no longer opening on Wednesday or Thursday nights so now closing at 5pm but still opening late on Fridays.

Please don’t call as I can’t groom and answer the phone. Would prefer a text on 0498 288 708, email ([email protected]) or facebook message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Have a lovely day everyone

Today I had the absolute pleasure of grooming this gorgeous girl from the labradoodle farm. The lovely lady’s at RSPCA Tasmania dropped her off and she was so scared but at the same time she was so snuggly!!
She was a bit scared in the bath but as you can see she soon came out of her shell and wanted belly rubs. She was loving getting her face trimmed (she fell asleep) and she gave me lots of kisses, she really was such a sweet girl!

I was even more happy that I didn’t have to shave her and she was able to get a cute haircut! She’s now off to her new foster home and I wish her all the best 🥰

RSPCA Tasmania has succeeded in shutting down Tasmania’s biggest puppy farm, Tasmanian Labradoodles.

More than 250 labradoodles are now being surrendered to the RSPCA and financial help and loving homes are urgently needed.

The immediate and permanent closure of Tasmanian Labradoodles and surrender of all of its dogs was secured last Friday, in a landmark out of court Agreement.

RSPCA CEO Andrea Dawkins said this was an historic win for animal welfare in Tasmania, but the hard work wasn’t over yet.

“We have been fighting to close Tasmania’s largest puppy farm for around three years, and we’ve finally succeeded,” Ms Dawkins said.

“Now, the RSPCA needs urgent financial help to provide veterinary care, foster homes and ultimately adoption for more than 250 labradoodles currently at the property.

“Many of these dogs have never been in contact with a human, they will need so much attention and care before they are ready to be part of a loving family with the life they so deserve.

“This is unprecedented, it is expensive, and the RSPCA needs your urgent help.

“We expect it will cost at least $1,000 per dog to give them the vet checks, vaccinations, behavioural assistance, food and temporary rehoming – and this is before we understand if any of the dogs have serious conditions that require further attention.

“This is an urgent call out to anyone who can donate to the RSPCA to help us give this critical care to hundreds of labradoodles. No matter how small the donation, every dollar counts.

“We have set a goal to raise $300,000 to help us in providing the care, medical requirements and loving foster environments to set these labradoodles on their pathway to forever homes.

“We will also need foster homes and ultimately adoptions for every one of the 250 dogs.

“We’re asking Tasmanians to open their homes and hearts to these beautiful animals, that deserve a second chance at a loving life.

“Despite their rough start, they have an invincible love of humans. They are friendly and loving, with a gentle temperament that makes them the most ideal family pet.”

The RSPCA first brought 70 charges for over breeding against the owners of Tasmanian Labradoodles in early 2023.

The charges related to alleged overbreeding between April 2021 and February 2023, under the Animal Welfare (Dogs) Regulations 2016

A long and hard fought legal battle concluded on Friday, with the signing of an out of court Agreement that secured the puppy farm’s closure, and surrender of all of its dogs.

“I’d like to thank the Department of Natural Resources for their assistance with this long-running matter,” Ms Dawkins said. “This support included the provision of two vets for a general health check of dogs several weeks ago.”

The RSPCA Tasmania is also calling on the Tasmanian Government to urgently change to the Dog Regulations, to ensure that this can never happen again.

“The reality is that the laws have failed all of us,” Ms Dawkins said. “The existing law does nothing deter this from happening and nothing to penalise when it does.”

“Under the existing laws, the Tasmanian Labradoodle owners could have faced a maximum penalty of just $273,000, which is just a cost of doing business for a puppy farm with an estimated revenue of around $2 million.

“The laws must change. We cannot let a situation like this happen ever again.

“Tasmania needs laws that ban puppy farms, and we need mandatory registration, standards and conduct for breeding established.”

Mr Penguins spa day ✨
Today Bear bought in his penguin for emotional support! But Bear told me that his penguin gets a bit jealous when he has his spa treatments so I decided that his hard working service penguin deserved a little pamper✨

He received a wash, blowdry, brush, a bit of length off of the body and a cute bandana to finish of his look 🥰

Doesn’t he just look handsome!

This is to remind you that if your pet has an emotional support friend, we will treat them with just as much love as we do with your pets 🩷
