We took Luna & Puppy for a walk this morning to the opening of Niche Plants at Legana. Had a browse of the gift items there from Jem's Designs while we were there.
Puppy was very chatty, but Luna was in a bit of a mood.

Puppy went for a walk around the Exeter Markets today, He had a great time and was interacting really well with everyone, even saying Hello Puppy to everyone and posing for photos

Unfortunately I thought I had some really good video to share but the GoPro glitched out and didnt save anything. So all i have is these 2 photos.

Took Puppy for a walk around Glebe Gardens this morning. He behaved very well and had a bit of a chat. I forgot to take some photos while we were there so recycling some previous photos.

Thinking I might head out to Evandale Markets tomorrow.

It was Luna's turn to go for a walk with me this afternoon down to pick up the mail. She wasn't being very talkative but it was her 1st time on the new perch on the wheelchair.

UPDATE: Pirate Nate has been scheduled for another surgery on Monday & has to go through preoperative procedures on Sunday.

Dont worry, this is a reversal surgery and he is very much doing well.

Due to this Majick Feathers will not be able to attend the Soggy Bottom Cardboard Boat race .

We apologise for this but be assured we will be back & we are still attending the Bunnings Easter Event on April 10th & we will keep updating our page with any further appearances.

Majick Feathers has been invited to be a part of the Soggy Bottom Cardboard Boat race being held at the Launceston Gorge 1st Basin pool on 16th March.

Come and say hello and give the birds a treat.

And don't forget we will also be at Bunnings North Launceston on April 10th from 5pm for their Family Easter Night

What a wonderful meet and great with Corban for his birthday today.
We were unsure of what to expect at first as Corban is autistic/ non verbal, Apollo and Corban quickly formed a wonderful friendship. Sharing some cashews and taking a wonderful walk together.

A well trained parrot can sence and read people in ways that are often unexpected and a true testimony to their intelligence.

Thankyou Corban, Cassie and Karen for a wonderful visit and thankyou Kate for arranging the day.

A couple of the Majick Feathers Birdy Basketball sets that are made and designed for big birds heading to the USA.

The Basketball with the Red backboard is our extra large and is available in our shop.

The one with the Black backboard is a custom order for another client in the US, with a larger hoop especially ordered for a Hyacinth Macaw (a dream bird for us) with a larger hoop for the largest parrot in the world

Apollo loves his Basketball and we are sure that these lucky birds will love playing as well

For a long time people have enjoyed our shows but we have not had any keep sakes to offer people who do not have birds.

With our flock generously donating feathers every year it's time for our creativity to branch a little.

Beautiful day for a fly today.

Thanks to the person who was concerned about lost parrots and posted them up on Tasmanian Lost Pet Register - TLPR .
We are free flyers and we have trained with our birds for years to do this safely and the birds know this area well.
They both have GPS trackers and we know their wearabouts at all times.
While they may chose the odd tree to sit in for a break they never fail to return home

Have an Echidna visiting us this morning.

Ever wondered how good a parrots eyes are. The flock were not happy about the Echidna in the yard and they spotted it in the grass from about 30m away from where they are.

It's hard enough to see it in the photo it blends so well, but the birds knew it was there.

Went for a wonder around Bunnings North Launceston this morning with Luna. Mostly had the usual of being stopped and chatted to and questions about Luna, but there was one that was different.

There was one lady that couldn't help but sprout off to a friend loudly about how birds should be able to fly and she bet that Luna's wings were clipped and she was just an "ornament".

Well I didn't even get the chance to reply, a Bunnings team member said." No these birds are free flyers", and then another bunnings customer chimed in and said they had seen our posts of free flying the birds.
Needless to say the lady slunk away without a word more to say.

I want to thank the Bunnings and this staff member and the bunnings customer for their support of us. It genuinely warms our hearts to have people especially those we dont know stand up for the care and oppertunities we give our flock and that we are recognised in our community as responsible bird carers.

To the lady with the uneducated /unfounded belief about how we care for our flock, please next time you see us out and about come up and say hi, ask any questions you would like and have a look on our face book page for even more examples of what we do before passing judgement again.

Amoung many things we promote responsible parrot companionship, we help others develop training skills so other parrots can live a good life and we take every opportunity to educate the general public in the challenges of parrot companionship.

Looking for some new places we can take the birds for a walk. We usually take them to Bunnings , Glebe Gardens or city Park at times.
Hoping to find other cafes / businesses that may allow us in with some of the flock so we have different options when we take them out with us.

Be great if the business could be tagged so they can confirm we would be welcome as well. And you never know you may just see us there in the future.

I'm on the mend, but it is a slow process to recovery

Pirate Nathan has spent his 51st birthday in hospital. The good news is his cancer treatment is going very well and today's surgery was to cut out the tumours now they have reduced enough to do so.

He still has more treatment to do after today's surgery but we are hopeful of starting up Majick Feathers shows again in 2025. We both miss the wonderful people we meet and sharing our family.

In the mean time I am still operating the online shop, training and caring for the flock and doing online personal training sessions for clients.

He is already missing the flock and talking about how much Puppy will have changed by the time he gets home.

Please send him all the love and support that you can while he heals from surgery and continues his treatment back to good health and back to being the happy friendly pirate that enjoys sharing his feathered friends.

Happy birthday Nathan one major step complete back to good health.
