Why do I love my tailbags?!
You be the judge…
When people ask me for advice on how frequently to wash tails and change tail bags… this tail was last washed for a show on the 27th of November, it was bagged after the show before we got on the float to go home and hasn’t been touched since 😨
Mind blowing right…

I often receive questions on what my favourite products are to get my ponies clean! So here’s a video that I forgot I even took, way back in August! With my favourite ‘go to’ products in my wash bucket!
I never complain about clients, but Sunday I was feeling particularly precious...
Ps rocky is my horse. If you cannot laugh at yourself, then cannot laugh at anyone else.
(Mild language warning)
Happy new year!
Here’s a hot tail tip if you’ve got a cheeky rabbit just like my Rocky!
***Summer Break***
This silly season, I will be taking an extended break so if you want to order tailbags for Christmas you will need to get yourself organised!
Orders will not be accepted from December 12th 2022 - January 16th 2023
I will still be servicing my trim clients in that time; however I am taking some personal/creative development time to work more with my lesser known creative outlet; leather.
Here is a beautiful, hand stitched buyers book cover I recently completed. There is so much beauty and character in this leather, it is a piece that will be enjoyed (I hope) for many years
‘Oakrock Leather’ will be here in 2023 and I am excited to share it with you.
For those waiting for the tailbag video, here is yesterdays shorter 15 minute supervised test after the first one was sabotaged 😅
Features my own ponies in the middle getting some morning snacks
“The real cost of a cheap saddle” deconstruction video coming soon with the help of Whiskey.
This is quite confronting… #therealcost #hiddendangers #theriskisreal #brokenandbroken #whatisyourlifeworth
It’s no secret that the brand of machine choice in my shed is Singer, with my first industrial machine predating 1980, I have since added a final 2 much older vintage machines to the fleet. Introducing Black Betty! Circa 1952 she is an absolute cracker, full cast iron construction and the second largest Singer ever produced with the head alone (the bit on the table) weighing over 70kg 🤯
Betty will be my go-to for super heavy work, ie canvas and leather 😉 it’s very hard to grasp the concept of just how HUGE she is in this video or her beautiful noise given the glorious rain on the shed roof this morning. But here she is, in all her magnificent (older then my parents!!) glory making incredibly light work of some 18oz canvas. She’s a 7-33 if you want to check out the what they are capable of online! I do love these old machines. #vintagesinger #blackbetty #whatabeast #foreveryoung #singerclass7 #industrialsewing #smallbusiness
Some further clarification after yesterdays post may have left some scratching their heads! Bless our blonde who just stood stock still while we played with the tailbag; yet again. But not without input from the family favourite midnight! What are your thoughts? #fieldtesting #saddlepony #thecheekyshetland #equineapparel #equinesmallbusiness

This tail hasn’t seen a proper wash since February, with a quick rinse around a bucket in September after she lost a tailbag and it caught some mud!
This video shows the transition from bagged, to freshly washed and rebagged.
Washed only with a simple shampoo, the bag has protected this filly’s white tail from the wind, rain, mud, and typical mare stains!
This patchy pony was the driver behind developing a quality waterproof, rugless tail bag to protect from all the elements!
Rebagged tail proudly sporting a model made from the new Diamond Ripstop.
