πŸŽ‰ For many of us, fireworks are a festive highlight. However, for our pets, these loud and unpredictable sounds can be overwhelming and frightening.

🐾 Create a safe, cosy, quiet spot in your home where your pet can retreat if they feel anxious.
🐾 Close windows, curtains, and doors to minimise the noise and flashing lights from fireworks.
🐾 Provide plenty of exercise earlier in the day. Take your dog for a long walk or engage in active play sessions with your cat earlier in the day.
🐾 Stay Calm and reassuring during fireworks.
🐾 Distract with engaging toysor long-lasting treats during fireworks.
🐾 Use Positive Reinforcement for calm behaviour. Reward your pet for staying calm during fireworks, with small treats, gentle praise, or petting to reinforce relaxed behaviours.
🐾 Keep pets securely indoors and ensure their safety as fireworks can cause pets to bolt in fear.

With a bit of preparation and some simple strategies, you can help your pet stay calm and comfortable during fireworks season.

Today is Reptile Awareness Day and with warmer weather, slithering sssnakes, are on the move.

🚫 If you spot a snake, the best thing to do is leave it alone. Stay calm and slowly walk
away, ensuring children and pets are safe.
🐢🐱 If you suspect your pet has encountered a snake, don't wait. Rush them to a vet
immediately, as early treatment is critical.
ℹ️ Common snake bite signs include sudden weakness, muscle tremors, vomiting, loss of
bladder control, dilated pupils, paralysis, and blood in the urine.
