These two cutie patooties decided late Sunday arvo, that playing near a spicy nope rope 🐍 would be fun. 😳
They were found near a brown snake. Their family didn’t see them get bitten but thought it best to get them seen by our vet just in case.
Lucky they did come in as both Jasper & Kobe started showing symptoms such as drooling & weakness when they arrived.
Both dogs needed to have antivenin and IV fluid treatment. They also needed to have oxygen support as the snake venom affects their ability to breathe well. As they didn’t like being separated, they shared the oxygen tent for a while until they were both stable.
Both dogs were well enough to go home to their family the next day and as adorable as they are, we hope we don’t see them again for a little while. 😉🥰

Heeler pups! 🐶 These cheeky babies were so well behaved & snuggly on their visit today. We only wished we had more time to play with them. ❤️🥰
Dental health affects the health of the whole body. 🦷
Bacteria from the mouth that causes plaque can enter the bloodstream & affect the heart, kidneys and other organs. 🦷 🦠😬
When your pet comes in for a dental procedure, they are placed under a general anaesthetic before we begin the procedure.
Dental X-rays are taken of all the teeth. 🦷 It is impossible to tell the full health of the teeth without X-rays. Often we find abnormalities that are hidden by the gums through these X-rays. 🩻 This dog had had teeth removed previously but was lucky enough not to need any taken this time.
He had the plaque scaled off his teeth before they were probed for any abnormalities and then given a polish with a nice minty paste before being woken up to go home. 🏠 🐶
August is Dental Month & if you have any concerns about your pets dental health, call us to have a check up with our team of Vets & Nurses.
We love seeing siblings wrestling together. These 2 girls were part of a litter that came in today for their first vaccine & microchips before they start looking for their new forever homes.
Puppies learn a lot about good social behaviour through play and it’s just fun to watch. ☺️
Vet visits don’t have to be scary.
If your pet isn’t as happy as this critter with their vet appointments, talk to our friendly team about ways we can help to make it less stressful. 😌🐶🐾

Ruger got herself into a little bit of trouble a couple of weeks ago. She was being given a few dinner leftovers from her human when she snatched the one thing she wasn’t supposed to have. 😳🌽 Uh oh! Cue a late night Vet visit! Lucky that her humans reacted quickly & got her seen to before it could get past her stomach and cause a LOT of damage. #luckypuppy #vetlife #vetnurselife #emergencyvet #corncobs

A little late night delivery at Leeton Vets. This first time Mumma had 4 little cherubs delivered by caesarean.
Can you guess what breed these are?

Snow is one very lucky puppy! 🐶 Just because it is cooling down does not mean the snakes have gone into hibernation just yet!
Snow’s family were working 50 mins outside of Leeton when we got the call that she had been bitten by a king brown snake 🐍 When she arrived at our clinic she was not breathing, unconscious and her gum colour was a horrible blue colour. Our team quickly jumped into action. She had an alarmingly low heart rate in which our team quickly gave her intravenous adrenaline and intubated. Our nurses started to breathe for her as she wasn’t able to do this on her own. We then started to administer Snake Anti-venom.
Our nurses breathed for Snow for 2.5 hours until she was able to do this herself!! Once she was able to breathe on her own and able to maintain her oxygen she was transferred to the oxygen box, at this point she was still unconscious but able to breathe on her own. She was monitored closely overnight by our on call veterinarian.
When our team arrive in the morning, much to our surprise, Snow was sitting up in her cage wagging her tail and sooking to be let out! She is the most gorgeous and very brave little girl 🐶🩷
Our job as veterinarians and veterinary nurses is truly rewarding when we have a patient that we pour our heart and soul into and the end result is more than we could ever want!🩷🩷
To the person that left these 3 kittens in a duct taped shoebox at our back door for us to find this morning 😡 … Santa saw you. You are permanently on his naughty list. May you only find coal in your stocking for a lifetime of Christmases. 🧦 🤬
They are in the hands of the Ranger now. Did you know they work with rescue groups to rehome cats & dogs?
DO NOT leave any animals at our back door If it was a weekend & no one was around, they would have suffered and died.
