🐶PUPPIES🐶

As we have seen quite an increase in puppies the last few months it is really important that we are on top of their worming schedule. 🪱

Puppies need to have an intestinal wormer every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age, then every month until 6 months then every 3 months for the rest of their lives.
They also need to be protected against heart worm in which we have a couple of different preventatives available at our clinic.

This morning we had 8 Irish wolfhound puppies for their first vaccination, microchip and worming. 💉🐾

They all got the clean bill of health from Dr Laura and a well deserved nap afterwards 👩🏽‍⚕️💤

Juno is looking very relaxed after her eye examination with Dr Alastair yesterday morning.
Juno was very brave getting lots of treats for distractions!
P.s don't mind the pretty green dye around her eyes which we were checking for any ulcers.

While we have had quite a few hot days it is very important to remember not to walk your dog while the pavement is hot. 🌞
Checking the walking track before taking them is crucial to make sure they don't burn their paws. 🔥

Before you take them place the back of your hand and if you can leave it on the ground for 5 to 10 seconds without it getting hot you are okay to take them. If your hand starts to burn it is best to wait until the ground has cooled off enough. 🐾

The best time to take your furry friends for a walk is in the morning before it gets too hot! 🌤️

Just a reminder of our hours going into the new year.

Our team will be taking a much earnt break from Monday the 23rd of December and reopen Monday the 6th of January. 🐕🐈

If you're going on vacation don't forget your vaccinations. 💉

Reminder if you are going away over Christmas, New year period and your pets are going into boarding they will need to receive the C5 vaccination including the annual C3 and Kennel cough.

If you are visiting any coastal areas also make sure your pet is on parasite control for Paralysis Ticks. If your pet isn't going with you they are still at risk. Paralysis ticks can live without a host for 6-8 months, so check your suitcases thoroughly! 🧳

If you are unsure of your pets vaccination or parasite control status before heading into boarding kennels give our friendly staff a call on 📞6914 9111. ❤️

Phoenix came into our clinic as a litter to get her first vaccinations and microchip. Dr Laura fell in love with her instantly! 😍
