⚠️ Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by some species of fungi (mainly moulds) which thrive wherever it is damp or humid. They can affect almost any feed source, including pasture, hay and grains.

Mycotoxins affect horses differently depending on toxin type and exposure level. Symptoms may include:

🐴 Poor coat
📉 Weight loss/reduced growth
💨 Digestive issues (colic, diarrhea)
🪫 Reduced appetite & energy
🧠 Neurological signs (tremors, coordination loss)
🚫 Lameness & reproductive issues
🩺 Liver/kidney damage (severe cases)

While these symptoms can indicate mycotoxins, they may also be caused by other factors. Always consider a holistic view.

The best defence against mycotoxins is a combination of good pasture management, careful monitoring, and when necessary, supplementation with an appropriate mycotoxin binder:

🐴 Clay-based mycotoxin binders, such as bentonite clay and montmorillonite, have a high capacity to absorb mycotoxins. They are widely used in livestock feeds to reduce mycotoxin exposure.
🐴 Yeast-based mycotoxin binders, containing certain strains of yeast, are also effective at binding mycotoxins, particularly those produced by Fusarium species. These binders are also beneficial for improving gut health.

🐶🧡 A well-socialised puppy is more likely to grow into a happy and well-adjusted dog. The key is starting early, as the ‘critical socialisation period’ for puppies is between 2.5 and 14 weeks of age (RSPCA Australia).

Remember, socialisation takes time and consistency. It is important that your puppy is never forced to do anything: patience and positivity are your secret sauce.

Our Story

We have been manufacturing high quality extruded and pelleted feeds for animals for over 30 years through feed mills located in Leeton, Coleambally (NSW), Tongala and Cobden (VIC). Leading supplier of animal nutrition products to the companion animal and livestock sectors, our range of pelleted and extruded feeds is formulated using the latest nutritional research to ensure the best results for your animals. We are committed to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Our history stems back to when the mill in Leeton was established in 1978. The mill initially produced meals for stockfeed that utilised ground hulls and rice pollard. In 1980 a steam pelleting press was added to the mill which allowed CopRice to have its own range of pelleted stockfeed. Local pig farmers were among the first to utilise these custom blends. Very soon after this, CopRice expanded into a large range of branded products for equine, canine and livestock animals. The development of stockfeed milling enabled CopRice to further evaluate rice milling by-products through its own research and development program. Today, CopRice Leeton is a fully automated feed mill that relies on its high standard of service and quality to meet its customer demand.

We take pride in our quality excellence by maintaining accreditation under international standards for quality and food safety management systems. All of our state of the art manufacturing facilities produce high quality, consistent products for the Australian domestic market along with a number of specialised products for export.
