Separation anxiety is a slow process to heal, but these baby steps are a great starting point!
Cooper would demand bark constantly until his owner would come back to him, this makes outings in public quite difficult; leaving him outside a shop front, taking Cooper and the kids to the park, even just having the blinds down at home.
Cooper is a big boy with a big bark! So once he starts, the whole street hears it!
Here we're teaching him to simply wait calmly and trust that mum will return.
We celebrate the small wins with him and let him know that being quiet is what we want.
Starting off with 2m then, 3m, 5m, then going (mostly) out of sight.
Baby steps so that we set Cooper up for success rather than pushing him too far past his coping point and sending him into that downwards spiral of anxiety.
This was a fast and easy win for Cooper and Mary and a really easy exercise to set up and work on!

A wagging tail doesn't always mean your dog is happy!🐕
There are so many different types of tail wags that dogs can display which mean a variety of different things, it can be hard to tell them apart and some dogs are individual from the standard.
But in general, it can be dangerous to think that a dog wagging is tail is happy, some dogs wag their tails as they're pulling apart their prey 🍖... not to fear monger or anything😅 but seriously, think about it! 🤔

If a dog is vulnerable (tied up, holding an obedience exercise, physically restrained, injured, disabled etc.) And your dog comes rushing in and makes contact with this dog, it's extremely unfair, rude, and usually triggering for the receiveing dog.

Road boundaries in 22 seconds❗️
We've done plenty of practise on boundaries inside the house, the car, and the back gate. But road boundaries are the newest, and probably the most complex. 🤯
Navi needs to recognise each road crossing as a boundary even though they may look different and be in different locations.
My personal requirements for road boundaries are set and I guide her through each crossing accordingly.
Eventually, just like Link, she will recognise and stop at each road crossing to wait for the invitation through. 😁
This is a great safety precaution and is setting the foundations for safe, off-leash freedom. 🥰
