Just a little update on Oakley:
Within the last week or so she has definitely improved in terms of life quality, she’s up and about playing fetch and wagging her tail as she normally would. Her liver won’t get any better but we are doing everything in our power to mantain her health. She’s currently taking 10-11 pills everyday (which is not fun for anyone), she’s on a very specific diet and eats 3-4 times a day. She’s a very fussy eater (just like her mum) so all her food has to be cooked in front of her to encourage her to eat it! She is getting so much love and doing everything a dog could dream of 💜
This experience has been one of the most mentally/emotionally challenging chapters I’ve ever faced. Not knowing whats going to happen within the next couple of weeks is unimaginable scary. But I’m so so grateful that she’s still here and happy as ever. I’ve stepped back from work and am working less to be able to look after her and study from home. A big shout out goes to her dad (Liam Reynolds) for continuously working and providing for us, we appreciate you more than you know 🩵
I also just want to thank each and every one of you that either sent a message, constantly checked in, shared/reposted, and of course donated, the support system I have around me is incredible and I wouldn’t be functioning if I didn’t have it, so thank you 💖
Oakley had another vet specialist appointment yesterday and more bloodwork was done. The results showed that her vitals are stable and she’s doing better than last time. She’s lost 10-11 kgs in the last week or so and as she is now a high maintenance pup her medications cost $500+ and only last 3 weeks. This is extremely difficult for me to be asking again, but I will put her go fund me link down below, it is also in my bio, so if you wish to donate anything at all I couldn’t be more grateful, I know I’ve already asked so many times but every little bit really does count 🫶🏼
