Dr Anushka is coming back to GPE after many happy owners and horses.

Dr Anushka von Oppen, BSc BVMS MANZCVS (Eq Surg) Cert Vet Chiro (IAVC), focuses on detecting underlying asymmetries and to improve the range of motion, stability, strength and performance of your horse.

The goal of the biomechanical examination is to:
🦴 obtain detailed information about the horses posture and movement,
🦴 assess for areas of dysfunction and asymmetry,
🦴 identify which structures are involved and,
🦴 make a management plan reduce discomfort and normalise movement patterns in order to reduce the risk of injury and improve performance.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE BIOMECHANICS ASSESSMENT?
1. In-depth Physical Examination
2. Gait Assessment
3. Chiropractic and Myofascial Assessment

𝙷𝚊𝚕𝚏 𝙿𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚎 𝙶𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚌𝚘𝚙𝚎 𝙳𝚊𝚢 - 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝙵𝚛𝚒𝚍𝚊𝚢

This will be our last half price Gastroscope Day for the year, limited spots are still available.

Does your horse experience:
▪️poor performance
▪️behavioural problems
▪️weight loss
▪️fussy eating
▪️poor coat condition

This could be indicating your horse may have ulcers.
❗️It is imperative that feed is withheld from your horse for 12-16 hours prior to the scheduled gastroscopy. Please also withdraw water for 4-5 hours prior to the scheduled gastroscopy. Make sure you turn off any automatic waterers.
❗Overnight stabling is available at the clinic for $90 if you are unable to fast at home.
Your horse will require sedation immediately prior to the procedure. The actual gastroscopy procedure may take somewhere between 15 to 60 minutes to complete. The average time will be 20-25 minutes.
Please bring a USB stick with you so we are able to give you a copy of the scope recording.

Unfortunately for this pony, they gave themselves a nasty eye injury in the paddock. Luckily their owners picked this up very quickly and followed our veterinary advice and treatment plan for the best chance of a full recovery.

Eyes are always considered as an emergency, starting treatment as soon as possible will improve healing time and reduce the chance of scaring.
