Firstly, I need her to relax and enjoy her time with me as much as possible inside and outside the home. Longline work is one of my favourite go to's π

Is your walk pleasurable or a struggle? Does your dog pull you like a tank engine or follow and listen? Most people have accidentally taught their dogs to pull on the leash. Once you understand why your dog pulls, you can easily adjust yourself to help your dog loose leash walk.

Recalls- come when called! Possibly the most essential thing you can teach your dog. It may very well be a lifesaver!
Practising hundreds of times on leash in many different environments and distractions is necessary. The most common mistake is letting your dog off leash too early.
George is starting to get the hang of it. Making it as fun as possible is the key to success β€οΈπ
Kimmy is nervous. Nervous dogs will bite! Also, it must be a horrible way ti live life so we are taking time to build her confidence around simple things.
The "Place" command is useful for many other things moving forward. Firstly, we need to take the fear out of doing something different. Building her trust in me is imperative for training moving forward.
Do you have an anxious dog? Give them a job to do with clear communication and build their confidence in you as their leader.
Nice work Kimmy πππ½
Meet George, our new Stay and train Dog β€οΈπ
What's the first thing we do to help settle the dog? We like to keep them on leash for a nice walk around the neighbourhood and in the house. I don't expect any interaction or engagement with the dog in these early stages, that will come ππ
George is aggressive to some dogs and pulls on the leash. He literally stands on his hind legs ti get to the other dog. This is very scary for his people. He is a big strong boy.

Kimmy reacts badly towards people and some dogs. Her lack of confidence and direction in and out of the home has contributed to this. Her lovely people just want the best for her and so do we!

The benefits of Board and Training are numerous, especially when it comes to speciality training. Of course, we always include the most important part of the training: their people. Board and training includes multiple sessions with the owners, or there really isn't much point, wouldn't you agree?

πΎ Meet Kimmy! πΎ
Kimmy is highly reactive to stimuli like people, other dogs, and even car tyres!
Today, we ventured into a new environment, and I could tell she wasn't at ease. To help her relax, we played the "Get It" game.
"Get It" isn't just about funβit's a powerful tool for relaxation, bonding, and rewarding good behaviour. By engaging in this game, Kimmy gets to let loosen up and shake off any pent-up energy, preventing those explosive reactions we want to avoid.

Does your dog struggle to be calm? Gorgeous Bonnie struggles to relax on her walks and to be calm around other people and dogs. Her anxious nature is stressful for her and her people. Her lovely people want the best for her. Let's start by addressing clear communication with positive reinforcement ππ
πΎ Does your dog struggle with anxiety and being calm leaving both of you feeling stressed? πΆπ Well, fret not, because we've got some helpful insights to share!
Many of us face difficulties in effectively communicating with our canine companions, despite our best efforts. Take Bonnie, for example. Despite her people attending obedience classes, they're still struggling to convey their intentions to her. This miscommunication has unfortunately led to Bonnie developing high anxiety, making it tough for her to unwind and enjoy life to the fullest. π
But here's the good news! There are simple yet powerful ways to enhance communication with your dog, paving the way for a calmer and happier existence for both of you. By understanding your dog's cues, establishing clear routines, and incorporating positive reinforcement techniques, you can create a deeper connection and foster a sense of security and relaxation for your beloved pup. π
Let's work together to ensure our furry friends feel understood, supported, and loved every step of the way. Because when our dogs are happy and at ease, it brings joy to our hearts like nothing else! ππΎ
