‼️IMPORTANT NOTICE: SHEARING SEASON‼️

As the 2024-2025 shearing season is now upon us, we thank everyone who has made advanced bookings with us.
Due to the massive influx of early bookings and the Royal Shows, we are now fully booked for the following months; August, September and October.

If you're looking to book your livestock in for all your sheep and alpaca needs, we recommend booking in for November and December as soon as possible. We would hate to see you miss your preferred time of year to book us in.

Any bookings for lamb marking (tailing, castrating, ear tagging and health checks), can be made as an individual appointment with our other lovely staff members. These appointments will not include any shearing or crutching for any livestock.

Happy International Dog Day!

We're thankful for our work dog Kelly and Mikayla's new addition to the team - Kenzie! Our dogs are vital in helping us when we're out on jobs. They love herding and meeting everyone!

We had a bit of fun in Mount Barker on Friday night, giving a preview of our show ready for the Queensland Royal Show.
Thanks to everyone who came to give us an audience to entertain and practice with!

LED KELLY AND HER GANG

A good crowd braved the chill on Friday night to watch working dog Kelly, from Jono's Sheep Services, in her unique LED coat herd sheep fitted with LED lights around an arena at the Mount Barker Pop-Up Park.

This was Kelly’s first ever performance and she did wonderfully. She’s now off to wow them in Queensland at the EKKA (the annual agricultural show of Queensland) in a couple of weeks.

Something beautiful to come out of yesterday's horrible weather.
One of our client's called us for some help with their flock's first lamb. Little guy needed a bit of help arriving. Arrived safe and sound earth side and is bonding beautifully with his mum.

With fresh grass now coming up, there is a high chance your sheep will get dirty bums. We have all the equipment needed, all you need is the sheep!

With the exceptionally high interest and bookings for this month's sale market at Mount Pleasant, we have closed taking new bookings for selling sheep this Thursday, the 13th of June. Due to the high demand of our services and our transport capacity to it's utmost extent.

As of July 1st 2024, Jono's Sheep Services prices will be increasing to reflect our high quality standard, the growth of the business and inflation of supplies/equipment and other associated costs the business provides during appointments.

We have attempted to absorb costs of supplies, equipment, and fuel over the last 2 years. However, with ever increasing prices, we have had to make the hard decision to increase our prices to reflect all these costs.

Your constant support and business with us is valuable and we want you all to know that in spite of increased costs of everything, we have done our best to keep our prices as low as possible for you, our valued clients.

Where's Jono?🤔

Jono is in Queensland at the moment shearing at the Rural Discovery Day on behalf of Royal Queensland Show (EKKA)

He is up there teaching primary school students about wool, shearing and sheep in a fun and interactive environment.

I don't do these very often, but I feel that this one is long overdue. It may be only mid way through the month, but she has done so much for more than a month.

Mikayla has done exceptional work with managing livestock moments for clients, as well as being an extra pair of hands out shearing, crutching or anything else that is required.

Mikayla also does a huge amount of work in the background to keep Jono's Sheep Services running, from administration to just generally telling Jonathan what to do.

Due to low numbers, our seminar for Sunday 5th May has been postponed to Sunday 2nd June.

We are holding two seminars this year with one on Sunday 2nd June and Saturday 6th July.

These sessions are designed to teach you about caring your sheep in a theory and practical way. You will have hands on experiance with handing sheep including how to detect for lice, understanding flight zones, learning to flip sheep and how to perform a health check on your sheep. You can also come along with any questions to pick our brain and to learn more.
