Awarran Park Arabian breeding emphasis is based on Arabians of Crabbet blood lines for their proven Endurance riding and competition traits. Elphyn brood mares feature strongly and we wish to continue the legacy that Trevor Jacobson established over 30 years of breeding Arabians. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to select many female Elphyn progeny when his circumstances saw Trevor begin
to wind down his stud. Our initial purchases featured daughters of *Manfred Imp. UK, Sarfyre and Arfaja Silver Aura. These now form the nucleus of our breeding programme. We are forever grateful to Trevor for entrusting us with his mares. Those brood mares are producing progeny by our three Stallions, Fenwick Silver Shadow, Ebjarah Aladin and Inshallah Royal Escort, all of which are Pure Bred Arabians and of 100% Crabbet bloodlines. A number of our Awarran Park progeny are now mature enough to have entered endurance stables Domestically and Internationally and are commencing their endurance careers with very encouraging and promising results. While relatively new to the Endurance scene, we have been breeding livestock for many years under the Tiger Ranch and Awarran Park banners. Our philosophy is fairly simple, and does not deviate from our goal which is rooted in history and in this case the many, many centuries of breeding the Arabian horse to be what it is. Breeding based on consistent type, temperament and performance (endurance) to maximise the percentage chances of breeding true to type. We are not influenced by the latest fashions, very few of them have longevity and that is the nature of fashion. Many noble breeds of dogs, horses and cattle have lost functionality in pursuit of show ring glory, appearance or aesthetics over common sense and workability. Arabians are famous for their aristocratic presence, beauty, temperament, intelligence and endurance qualities. My choice of bloodlines was not preordained, however my search for the Arabian I admired continually had me looking at the same Arabians I had admired all my life, and that had always been so prized as Arabians under saddle. There is something spiritual about the Arabian horse and their bond with humans. As our logo “Custodians of the Breed” suggests, we will aim to preserve and reproduce those qualities consistently in our breeding program, and to increase the profile and establish a band of loyal followers and repeat customers for the progeny of our stallions and mares at Awarran Park.
