🎉🎉 It's Ekka Time 🎉🎉

Again this year we will be closed this coming Saturday the 10th and the following Saturday the 17th for ekka. This year Sarah has 3 standard poodles entered (Elton, Zali and Jazmine) and Riley has 2 standard poodles (Astrid and Rune) and toothless the Peruvian hairless entered!
As I've told a few people now there is a live stream to the full show, it can be found below at the link. If your wondering which day to go you can certainly come cheer us on this Saturday in the ring!
Ekka week is always a huge week for us so bare with us and our bags under our eyes 😅

Our Puppy School and Basic Obedience classes graduated this week, rocking all their core skills and showing off they have the stuff to keep on going with their training! We enjoyed getting to know all these dogs (and their humans) and wish them all the luck in the future, and hope to see them all again soon! 🎉🐩

We ran the offical sprint dog trial last night, and did so well! We got 3 out of 4 qualis, which is pretty darn good. Old lady Cookie ran her little heart out. Astrid did very fast recalls to Riley, but luckily that counted even if on the 2nd run she beat the bag. Tessa ran her heart out for the love of that baggy! And Zali ran the first run beautifully but the 2nd run she was a bit thrown from dogs barking and didn’t want to leave her mum (Sarah).

The Poodles of course love showing off how great they did, whereas Old lady Cookie is a bit camera shy.

Finally had a chance to sit down and dwell on today! And what an amazing day!
We attended the in Brisbane today to compete in the .
Tessa and I competed in Salon Freestyle open class and we came home winners 🏆
1st place open class
So proud of our work and how far I've come in my grooming.

Taryn has been training and working with animals since 1994 and been grooming since 2000. In 2012 she discovered creative grooming and has been obsessed since! Taryn has won multiple creative grooming competitions, had her work published in the international Opawz Creative Book, is an Opawz Certified Master Creative Groomer and teaches creative grooming seminars around Australia. Whether is a simple ear or tail colour or an extreme change - Taryn loves colouring the world, one dog at a time💜🐾💜

Arrow has been an industry professional for 35 years. She is a poodle grooming tutor currently touring Australia teaching home groomers, professional groomers and show groomers how to perfect a wide variety of poodle trims. Arrow is a creative grooming master certified by Opawz and has a background in showing standard, mini and toy poodles.

Arlo was certaintly in need for a groom. It was his first groom ever and even though he wiggled a lot he walked out looking like a new boy! Remember get your puppies into grooming sooner rather than later so they can learn all those grooming skills before they need their first big haircut 🥰

Sarah, Riley and Sarah's daughter Skye have all entered the model dog competition and Sarah is also competing with Tessa on the Saturday morning in the live grooming comp, salon freestyle class.

How darn cute are these two little girls!!! They came in for their first grooms before they went off to their new homes.

If your looking for a new puppy a great question to ask the breeder is if they have had any grooming training prior to going to their new homes. It really helps set up these little babies for the best start in their grooming lives ❤️

Our 2 graduate classes for this round of puppy school and basic obedience. They all did an awesome job learning how to work with their dogs as a team!

Great news! I'm getting some jackets made, but I need some sizes to find some averages 😁
Please comment some sizes of your dogs from the picture included with their breeds and also maybe even some colour suggestions.
Especially dashound owners please, I know how hard it can get to find a coat long enough!

These big beautiful eyes belong to Nana the border collie who was pulled from the pound today by the amazing team at Shepherd's Lantern Rescue, saving her from euthanasia. She’s an absolute sweetheart who was in much need of a bath. She’s now smelling great again and on the lookout for a new home, so if you think you could give sweet Nana here the perfect home, contact Shepherds Lantern rescue.
