On Friday 27th December, the first $5000 from the Earthquake Appeal was sent to Vanuatu to help alleviate the clean water crisis that is now putting even more pressure on the health & medical facilities in EFATE.
Clean water is essential to good health, and we have had urgent requests for assistance from families without water. This is an urgent and immediate need, so it has been prioritised above shipping. We still plan on shipping in January, but the first $10,000 raised is being devoted to emergency water storage.
After consultation with our Vanuatu Directors on the ground in Port Vila, it has been decided to purchase 1100L water tanks that can collect rainfall to help families in urgent need. We thank YOU all for making this possible, and on behalf of the people of Vanuatu, thank you for supporting our brothers and sisters in whatever way you can.
There are now hundreds of Earthquake Appeals up and running, and each one will help in specific ways, giving you many options to support depending on your affiliations.
