🚨 Fireworks Alert 🚨

Today is New Year’s Eve so there will be multiple fireworks, 9pm and midnight.

Fireworks can be distressing for pets, so please keep them indoors or in a safe, secure place during these times. Make sure your pets are wearing collars with up-to-date contact information or are microchipped in case they get startled and run off.

⚠️ Remember: If your pet is not registered and is collected by Local Laws, the release fee can be nearly $300. Ensure your pets are registered to avoid this cost. Stay safe!

Christmas is a time for overindulging… if your dog joins in the fun, they could end up with more than just an expanded waistline!

Chocolate contains substances known as “methylxanthines”. You may be familiar with one of the methylxanthines in chocolate – caffeine!

The other is theobromine. Both caffeine and theobromine produce similar toxic effects, with the theobromine effects lasting much longer than caffeine.

Signs of chocolate ingestion include:
-Vomiting -Diarrhoea
-Rapid heartbeat -Hyperactivity
-Tremors -Seizures
-Death in severe cases

If your dog has eaten chocolates, it is important to contact us straight away, with information on hand about the type of chocolate and the amount consumed.

If your dog has eaten a toxic dose, they may need treatment to get the chocolates out of their system.

Ask us about the new ready-to-use injection to use to make your dog vomit.

Don’t delay! The sooner the treatment, the better the outcome.
