Nurse Ebeth & Dr Christophe welcomed one of our Manly Road 24hr Vet Hospital Client Support team members to BIVS & Macleay Island this week.
Janie joined Registered Vet Nurse Ebeth for the day & documented her precious hours here with some cute pics.
With our Vet Clinic getting busier Nurse Ebeth welcomes all the help she can get.

🔥Welcome to the the first day of Summer 2024.
We don't want to be a summer bummer and we really do hope your summer and Christmas is full of fun and making great memories with your fur family members, but.... we have already seen an uptake in incidences of HEAT STROKE in dogs.
This little guy got accidental heat stroke in his own home! (Dad was away for a few hours and Aries got caught behind some furniture and could not get away from the sunny side of the house) A complete freak accident so please be kind with any comments. *Image published with dads permission and Aries is recovering.
So, now is the time to take summer seriously for the sake of the walking fur coats that we love so much.
🔥Keep walks EARLY or LATE in the day (If you love to jog and go for long walks just enjoy your own company and keep your babies at home.)
Ensure your pets are inside and air conditioning is on during the times you are out of the house. (Recent electricity rebates means we can all be a bit more generous with our air conditioners.)
💦Ensure plenty of cool water is ALWAYS available.
🔥Beach days should begin really early and take an umbrella with plenty of fresh water. The coast is always at its best first thing in the morning anyway.
Oh and while we are at it. Please take p**p bags. (Don't be that person.)💩
Swimming is a an awesome way for dogs to keep cool but they can still experience heat stroke even while swimming in the ocean and drinking too much sea water has a whole range of complications. (Secondary drowning being one of them, I recommend you look it up.) 💦
🔥HOT FOOTPATHS!!! If you would like to know how much dogs paws suffer please feel free to take off your own shoes and crawl on along the path or road on all fours and see how it feels.🔥
Find a shady park, take an early morning or late afternoon dip, relax inside with the aircon or take walks in the cool of the evening to look at Christmas lights.
It might take some adjustments to your routine but with the summer months ahead looking to be hot and stormy it will be worth it in the long run.
Such is life in sunny, stormy SE Queensland.
