Clydevale Doc Cleavage EX91 has taken out Reserve All Australian for the second year in a row!
It's been a busy week with the North West Sub-Branch hosting the Holstein Australia Annual Awards Dinner, farm walks and the Stars of the Future Sale.
In the sale Clydevale PSG Sunblack was purchased by the Kenny family, Lakeview Holsteins from Colac. We wish you all the best with her! The Kenny's purchased 3 lots at our sale in May too.
Clydevale Radar Petra was purchased by Bill and Jane Morgan and family, Louden Hill Holsteins, Bamawm. Great to have Petra go to Louden Hill, the first two heifers we bought in the North West were at the Louden Hill sale in 1981. Louden Hill Free Cindy and Louden Hill Free Faithful were also the first animals we showed, at the 1981 Kerang Show. Both families are still in our herd today.

Lot 29 - Clydevale Radar Petra

Straight from our most prolific family, The Penny's.
From an EX dam and backed by another 9 EX and VG dams, Petra is sired by Radar. He is a Doc son from the Rasberry family that we went back and used after our first daughters calved in. Our first 3 Radars are classified VG88, VG87 and VG85. From the Penny family, Radar Paramount VG85 is currently producing 72 litres!

In 2012 we selected Hullabaloo Bolton Sundae EX95 4E at the North West Stars of the Future Sale, Echuca Showgrounds. On October 8th at the same location we offer her great grand daughter for sale. Sundae has just been announced as Holstein Australia Cow of the Year finalist for the fourth time. She has started a great family in our herd and the Sunspots are a deep Australian cow family, a great addition to any herd. Thanks to Murray Varcoe for breeding and selling the best cow we ever purchased.

Judges’ Comment: Excelling as both a type and production cow with notable show ring success, Sundae is now establishing herself as a consistent transmitting brood cow.

Owner Comments: Sundae is a once in a lifetime cow. She has high type, production and likeability. A show winner and All Australian Cow and our highest classified cow ever, Sundae is breeding very well.

Her sons have bred 80 registered daughters in our herd and her daughters and granddaughters are amongst our best ever cows. She has dairy strength, will to milk, a fantastic mammary system and a great temperament.

Sundae is as close to the perfect cow we have had and her progeny are extremely exciting for us. She is the best cow ever at Clydevale and we hope to keep working with her for many years.

Congratulations to Clydevale Holsteins and Murray Varcoe on another great contender for 2025 Cow of the Year.
