Greyhound Re-Homing aims to rescue and re-home Greyhounds throughout regional NSW. This page will include dogs for adoption from Greyhound Re-Homing, but will also serve as a network for foster carers, owners and trainers wanting to rehome dogs & any person who is passionate about the rescue and re-homing of Greyhounds and wishes to donate, whether it be funds or items. Greyhound Re-Homing is a pr

ivately funded group, who has over 20 years experience with greyhounds in all shapes and sizes. We liaise with trainers to facilitate dogs coming into care, rather than the council pound facilities. We also communicate with regional tracks, where possible, to promote the re-homing (not destruction) of greyhounds.

**ADOPTED**
⭐BONDED PAIR⭐
✅ ✅GREENHOUNDS (Muzzle Exempt)!!

Holly and Mini are looking for a home together. They have been pets for 5 years+ and have lived together with a handful of other dogs until 2022 when they their mum passed away.😢 Both girls have been through the NSW Greenhounds program and have received their greencollars, which will come with them to their new home.

They are friendly with many different breeds of dogs, especially smaller dogs. They are NOT cat tolerant or suitable to live with small critters. They are great with children and have had some interactions with horses.

Name: Holly
Colour: Blue
Age: 10yrs

Name: Mini
Colour: Black
Age: 8yrs

Whilst both girls are technically seniors, you wouldn't notice that on most days (except Hollys greying face) as they are still both young at heart. They will both still play with the younger hounds in foster care whether it be zoomies in the backyard or toy time. Holly & Mini are both happy, affectionate girls who have been in care over 425 days for no reason except that they are older and a pair. These girls deserve their own loving family!

Holly & Mini are polite when taking treats or at dinner time, having had some obedience training in their last home. Holly can sit on command. Both girls had started learning to become assistance dogs and are very intuitive. Holly is very much a mother hen.

These girls would make ideal companions for an older adopter or in a nursing/retirement home setting, but they would just as easily fit in with a family who have children of any age. Nothing much fazes these girls... You would be hard pressed to find hounds quite as unflappable as Holly & Mini.

🏡 A home with yard would be great, but they would easily adjust to unit living.
👥 A low to medium activity level household would suit these girls just fine. They will walk everyday, but also happy to skip some days as long as they can get out for toilet.
🐶Friendly with all dogs they have met, with proper introductions.
🐱🚫NO CATS OR SMALL CRITTERS

🏘NSW homes preferred, due to the girls having their NSW Greenhound collar.

Adoption Fee: 💲100 (price reduced due age, length in care and being a pair).

📣 FREE ENGRAVED DOG TAGS FOR NSW RESIDENTS 📣

We want to help more lost dogs return home WITHOUT coming to council shelters.

So, we are giving away 1000 FREE engraved dog tags to dog owners who live in NSW. All you need is a microchipped dog with up-to-date microchip details. Limit of 3 tags per household.

🔹 Not sure if your dog is microchipped? Bring your dog to your local council animal shelter, and the staff can scan the dog for a microchip and check if the details are up-to-date. If not, the staff can assist you in updating it, at no cost. If the dog isn't microchipped, some councils offer free or discounted microchipping, but if not, it can be done at vet clinics for a fee.

🔹 Do you have the microchip number already and want to verify if it's up-to-date? Contact your council with the microchip number, your full name, address, and phone number, and they can check for you.

If you are a NSW resident and have already confirmed that the microchip is up-to-date (including your name, phone number, and current address), get your free engraved pet tag here 👉 https://bit.ly/free-engraved-dog-tags

This is a www.findmyowner.com.au initiative, proudly supported by the NSW Government.

GREAT GLOBAL GREYHOUND WALK (GGGW)

29th of September is the Great Global Greyhound Walk. It's a day to get together, go for a stroll and celebrate the greyhound breed.

We are organising a walk for Tamworth, NSW. It will be approximately 2km long (with a shorter option), which should take about 30-45mins to complete. We are looking at meeting in the vicinity of Bicentennial Park (more details to come once final time chosen).

We would like some feedback as to what time will suit most people. The times we are thinking about at the moment are one of the following:
🟣10am
🟣11am
🟣12noon
🟣1pm
🟣2pm

We are open any times, so please comment which time would suit you best if you can join us.

**Edited to add: everyone is welcome to join us, even if you don't have a hound... We will be bringing a number of hounds, it you're also welcome to join with your non-sighthound breed dog as well.😁

We've been off-line and pretty quiet for most of this year. Sadly our team have had a number things happen this year, which we will address later and give you an update on what's happening.

But today, Jodi has finally been well enough to get out and about. So we've stuck over to Somerton Pub to join Snagquip! It's a bit damp out today, but we're all here and set up.

We've got some leads, collars, and a few yard muzzles for sale.

Shadow has also braved the weather and she's making herself at home conning snacks from anyone who will feed her. Shadow is our only female hound in care at the moment and she is cat tolerant... Actually kitties are pretty scary.😉

Missing hound. Anyone in that area, please keep a look out.

With 4 boarders arriving this week, we needed some more beds for bums. So, tonight, I dragged out another single bed mattress (yes, they're both actual mattresses, not foam) and rustled up some old doona covers to go over the top.

Seems that the mattress beds are popular... Even Snipper has claimed one and he very rarely voluntarily sleeps on beds!

9 hounds, 8 are black & there is only 1 girl... Can you pick who is who?😜

Yep, new bed is wonderful! Lucky doesn't roach very often, but 10 mins on the new mattress and he's roaching! Seems like the single bed mattress is going to be popular... 3 of the 5 hounds (Lucky, Shadow & Smokey) are on it now!🤣 Rooster and Snipper settled for other beds.

Quick, look at the photo of a clean hound room before they have zoomies and play time again!🤣

The boys (Lucky & Snipper) aren't happy with me... Their beds have disappeared! Shadow's about to get a shock when I kick her off the couch too so I can move it.🤣 One too many toys have exploded & i have new beds to go in here, so I'm kicking them out into the yard while I rake (and vacuum) the lounge room. This mess is also part of the foam mattress that got dug to shreds too.😭

I know, I'm horrible... All the green grass and shade they have to endure for half an hour until the new beds go in!😜🤣

EDIT: FOUND!! Cheeky boy was having a nap on someone's verandah around the corner!🤦‍♀️

MISSING: Whiskey

Whiskey has somehow slipped out of his yard in the Moore Creek area (Fairymartin Lane, Jubaye Dr area). Please keep an eye out for him. He may be a little skittish, so please don't chase him if he does run. He's a sweet, friendly boy, so please do grab hold of him if the chance arises. His family are out looking for him now.

You know it's a hot day when the dogs prefer to be outside rather than inside in the air con... To be fair, our poor little window air con is struggling in this heat.😬 *Please excuse the low quality of photo... My poor phone is on it's last legs and the camera is terrible.🤦‍♀️
