I’ve just weened these little Sheba boys this morning. I think I’ll give them a lovely shampoo and brush this avo. I’ll just let them adjust today . They have plenty of boys touch older to keep them company

A friend of mine has given up breeding Sheba. Her children have not been doing their chores and so the piggies have suffered. I have all her remaining Sheba and Texel piggies and all were originally mine except Nelson. So I now have a new Sheba male and an additional six girls

Wow looks like a cyclone came through. Well I didn’t cop the wind but the rain and tons of it. So much so every single pen was wet inside and out.
One day of fine weather and I stripped them and washed and raked up all the mouldy hay. Let the sun dry out the ground and later afternoon put all back together. 21 competed so far. You may notice I don’t move the pens around. Instead I have a grass run so the piggies come out during the day and sleep in pens at night. Well its time to bring them out to their fresh homes. It’s cloudy today but a little occasional showers won’t matter.

It’s been raining. Constantly. Not one single pen outside is dry.
I ran out of cages so I made up a pen with the granddaughters lego . It’s a really good size set up on the garage floor

I have just weened these boys. They are from two sets of parents. Aby couple and a sheltie couple. With three girls included there were seven pups in the one nest. It’s still so difficult to tell which ones are Sheltie especially as only one was Aby and how come??? Rocky has had smooth coats pups before

This pup I just weened a few days ago and this morning I noticed his big dark eyes weren’t so big. I noticed a little scratch on his bottom eyelid. I washed with saline water and put a drop of VitE oil. This evening looks lot better . Soon he’ll be ready for new 🏡

Its hot. I mean really dangerously hot. We must be sure our piggies are kept as cool as possible.
I have my outside hutches tucked in under the shady trees. I have a soaker hose permanently set along the yard over the hutches. And a sprinkler on top of the big pen. As the day warms up I put the water on for an hour a time.
Also I have cool spots underneath the shady trees where my free range girls camp quietly through the heat of the day. No small hides in the sunlight as they get overheated Plenty of water bowls in cool spots and mostly do not disturb them while they are resting

Early this week Sheba and Fonzie had three new pups. 28th November Unfortunately the smaller girl passed the following day. She was weak and shaky with a tilted head. So sad 😞

Two boys been together for life but no longer like each other’s company. A nasty bite on the bottom ends up with a nip on the ear. These boys will need separate 🏡 and sooner than later ☹️ They are close to ten weeks old now

I took some pics yesterday of my pups from last week. The creamy shorthair is already 12 days old and the texels born the following day on the 15 th . My first ever curly Sheba one boy so golden just like his dad. These will all be weened early in December

Yesterday afternoon I found Possum sleeping. She had passed away. 😭 She was eating earlier and went for a nap on the hay. She went peacefully in her sleep 😭 Will miss you my chubby fuzzy sweetheart 😭

This little fella jumped with fright and seems to have dislocated his hips or something

Each morning when I turn on the hose GeeGee moves away a bit. A short clip to show how GeeGee is getting about. Unfortunately GeeGee is still losing weight with a steady drop of 20g each day. Weighing in this morning at 1107g so since Saturday she has lost 90g . At this stage of pregnancy I would like to see her gaining weight each day.
