All follow up checks or assessment only appointments will incur a minimum fee of $50 as I still need to cover my time and travel costs.
Appointments at my property will be at a discounted rate.

We ask our horses to be athletes in whatever discipline you train for. Keeping them sound in mind n body is our aim. Please dont forget to warm them up and cool them down to help keep them in optimum condition and preparation.

Wet weather is not a great time for me to be able to treat horses, few are asking why?
My needles and box, cannot get wet, this includes getting to and from the horse or paddock to my car
I travel long distances and although it may not be too wet at your place , it could be at other places on my run or even the way home.
Horses need to be dry and clean and out of the wind to treat effectively and to be able to assess the horse fully
My car is not 4wd
Not everyone has shelters and I understand this, just let me know
If 2 or 3 people cancel , my whole run is usually cancelled as I cannot travel 3 plus hours to see 1 or 2 clients, unfortunately it’s just not financially viable.
Acupuncture is not an emergency treatment, if your horse is suddenly lame or unwell , or you feel it’s urgent, please contact your vet.

It may be a wet week ahead, please keep horses dry and clean for treatment or let me know if you can’t or don’t have any undercover area, I totally understand and am happy to rebook. My box of goodies cannot get wet n I cannot put needles into muddy horses ……Much appreciated ❤️

Hope you all had a wonderful break, bit warm n some places wet
but much needed!
I will be starting regular runs again from next week. I have penciled in many names and are full for the first 2 weeks and will message those that are already on my list. So for any new bookings please be aware of a 2 week wait, but will endeavour to put you in earlier if I get a cancellation. I will do up the run for each week on the Sunday prior and let you know a time then. Please be aware I can no longer do checks or assessments ( no acupuncture) without a minimal fee to be charged for my time and travel.
Thank you again to my many beautiful clients and their amazing 4 legged friends in supporting what I love doing and is always a continual learning process working with horses! 🥰

What’s a Typical Acupuncture Visit?

As with any procedure, illness or injury, the first thing is to consult your vet to examine your horse.

There are several different types of exams depending on the presenting complaint. For acupuncture we use a myofascial palpation exam. This is a very thorough hands-on palpation and manipulation of the body to identify areas of discomfort or dysfunction. If problems are identified that require other types of exams, or further investigations, such as lameness, joint or neurological, I will advise to see your veterinarian.

Once specific areas are chosen for treatment, the acupuncture needles are placed. “Dry needling” is the basic procedure of using needles only. The needles I use are sterile, single use only.

Treatments can last anywhere from five to thirty minutes depending on the condition being treated and acceptance and age of the horse.

Acupuncture points are sometimes distant from the area of the actual problem, and multiple acupuncture points can be used to treat the same area.

If you are considering acupuncture for your horse, allow up to 3 treatments to see a significant improvement depending on the condition.

For a treatment , could we please have clean and dry horses and an area dry or under cover. I know it’s not easy with this weather and I’m happy to rebook if needed but it is a necessity for me to be able to assess and treat your horse .
