The ducklings first swim in the big pond! Just a few minutes but they had a wonderful time. Much better than the bathroom sink.
Our first little foray in the grass today for an hour or two! The ducklings are 2 weeks old today.
I always provide sand baths for my quail, from 2 weeks of age onward. You can see they absolutely love it! These are my 3 primary breeding groups at the moment. My only issue is the Oz group are only giving me 3 eggs a day at the moment, everyone else is powering out!
Feat. Heath Rider and our drake Penguin.
Now, our calls are always friendly but not usually chase us around the yard friendly 😅 I do believe the hormones are starting to flow in our Australian Calls. Little note: Penguin isn't being aggressive at this point. He's just following us, usually looking for treats
The Blue and Oz Snowy pen is always my most peaceful! Shortly I will be bringing in some more Oz Snowies and a much anticipated group of Lavender types.
Cookie and Strawberry are growing like weeds and settling in beautifully. Strawbs is definitely the more friendly and outgoing of the two. Cookie is more reserved and prefers quiet time.
A little glimpse into the nightime shenanigans with 22 baby rats!
They all get a dish of divetelac to snack on and a top dressing of Troppo Blue bird food on their Ol' Jacks Rabbit and Guinea Pig Pet Mix!
The new ducks are settling in nicely. They're having an inside play to help them get more used to us! We've named the Drake Valentino, or Val for short. The little hen still doesn't have a name.
