The first duck egg of the season!! I'm so excited. It was either Don or Tina who laid this beauty. Heath called me down after he got home from dropping off the kids and showed me. Yay!

These 9 young ladies from Haylee Hastings eggs are growing magnificently. They are now just a few days past 6 weeks old. I'm so excited to add them to my breeding flock! They have wonderful temperaments and are a very good size.

Their brothers moved to the suspended aviary today with retiree Braxton. I am planning to keep one or two of the 6 males, but will have at least 4 roos available.

In other news, our foster king quail hen Peggy has moved to a downstairs brooder with her 3 foster chick's. These 3 are thriving under Peggy's watchful gaze.

Doing a yard clean up and these scraps of wood were just laying around. I figured, what better use than nest boxes for the duckies! Tina has been going off and hiding lately so I think we may get eggs sooner rather than later from her.

Eventually I want to add sides and a roof to these so they're properly enclosed. They definitely don't seem to mind them regardless!

Well that was an excellent day out!

Our home grown girl Tina got 1st in AOC Call Duck -Young Duck, as well as Champion AOC Call Duck.

Penguin and Don both got 1st in their respective classes and Ducky also got first in her class. Mavis got 2nd in AOC Call Duck - Young Duck.

Super excited for this breeding season coming up.

And last but certainly not least, the Pharoahs. These are by far my friendliest birds, with decent body weight and fantastic egg laying consistency. I adore this group.

The Blue Group. A few different bases, some tux. The goal for these guys is to breed bigger body size, they're already good for temperament.

The Tibetan Tux group. This one is by far our biggest bird size, and also our least friendly. The goal this season is to breed better temperament into them and attempt to even out the white, so they're half white, half Tibetan.

Show prep for the ducks today! Our first poultry show of the year is tomorrow and we are taking the entire flock. Stay tuned for lots of pictures and wish me luck prepping these guys 🤣🤣

First batch since the J*p Quail had their winter break. They're SLOWLY starting to lay again!
