So sorry if you’re looking while you’re having dinner.
You’ll be surprised how tough chickens can be.
This hen was so determined to go play with the big boys.
She was accidentally loved way too hard & her skin was torn.
She made a full recovery within 2 weeks and I retired her off to a girls only life.

Rooster 🐓 surrender day
will be on the 16th of Feb from 5:00pm.
with 1 to 2 only in a cardboard box no water.

The box has to have chicken wire on top,
that is tied down with wire or cableties.
Make sure they have room to stand up and turn around.

If not appreciably boxed, I won’t be able to take them as I won’t have time to fix it.
The pictures are of what’s not accessible.
There’s a pic of a box that is correct.

🦆 Here is one very happy story for one very lucky duck!🦆

The story started about 16 months ago when a very injured 🤕 girl had been attacked which resulted in her losing an eye & a leg.

I nursed her back to health and found her a loving home.

Sadly her forever home was moving. She came back in the hope I could find her another wonderful home.
This young man who wanted a duck, came along with his pocket money $2.45 to buy her. 🥹

As you can see, his absolutely smitten with her. He is even looking into a prosthetic leg for her! How sweet is this

Tomorrow:::::Thursday and Friday is another extreme heat wave 🥵.
So if you’re not prepared they will struggle to get through the hot days, especially on the second day, as they wouldn’t of had time to recover from the day before.

Ditzy having a dust bath and her feathers are looking 👀 terrible as she so desperately needs to go through a moult.
So if you are worried that your flock is looking old daggy or unwell with the way their feathers are looking. Don’t worry as this winter is moulting time for all hens & roosters.
Downside is, the protein will go into making feathers & not eggs.
They just can’t make eggs & feathers at the same time.

ITS GOING TO BE HOT 🥵 the girls & yourself can’t be putting your heads in the sand & hope for the best.
Please help them out by wetting/mist spray the shade areas just for 5 minutes every hr to help them to keep cool. As they’ll lay in the wet dirt to keep cool.
If you do find one in distress, a bucket of water & put her body in as this will get her body core down and then keep her in side to recover.

Love teaching young turkeys to come when they are called.
They are getting used to me now and come running up for breakfast and again in the afternoon, as they spend the day free ranging the backyard
They are all available if you have ever wanted your own turkeys

sorry but there will be no rooster surrender day this week.
As it’s out of my hands to when these are on, I do understand the frustration. The next one should be on the 2ed Feb.
please do remember that this is only a hobby and I do this the help you all out with your roosters but I just don’t have the room to house them for weeks.
