Regular farrier appointments aren't a luxury, they are a necessity for your equine companion's lifelong welfare.

❔Did you know❔
Every extra 1cm of toe length results in -
🔹an extra 50KG of force acting on the tendons
🔹a -1° drop in sole angle where the DDFT inserts into the coffin bone can lead to a 4% increase in the pressure exerted by the DDFT on the navicular bone

Hi everyone
All payments are now needing to be cash on the day please. No bank transfer. If you need to pay later you can ask at the time of making the appointment and if ive trimmed for you for a while and trust you we may be able to set up a payment plan but due to a rise in people just flat out not paying me at all and ghosting me or paying weeks or months late the general rule is now cash on the day.
I know that most of my clients are great and would never do this but I just have been not paid and ghosted too many times now or paid weeks or months later than agreed on.

"Many trainers - unaware of neural fatigue - advocate constant aids. Examples crop up in all riding disciplines.

Dressage trainers often teach riders to hold steady on the outside rein at all times, as a support to the horse. Hunter/jumper trainers frequently ask that riders maintain strong lower leg pressure, to keep the horse forward and rider secure, etc.

All of these are static cues; they are applied, maintained, and unchanged. They defy the reality of neural fatigue, causing us to ride against a horse's brain rather than with it. Very quickly, receptor cells in the horse's mouth or sides tire.

They can't continue to send ‘pressure’ signals to the horse's brain.

That's why constant aids become meaningless - its not the horse refusing to respond, it's that he'd have to override his own brain cells to do so."

This horse had a big crack that was seedy toe
It needed to be resected to remove it all
It looks unappealing but it's so important to remove all of the bacteria if possible and keep it packed consistently the whole time that the crevice grows out to make sure it doesn't come back. If you leave it unpacked, it leaves it very vulnerable and can come back if dirt packs in there, really easily.

Rest in Peace Lacey
Yesterday my beautiful girl Lacey passed away and I already miss her so badly
This horse is the best horse I have ever and probably will ever have. She taught me everything and I didn't deserve her she was too good.
I made so many mistakes with her and she's been my inspiration that made me pursue body work and equine barefoot trimming.
I love you Lace and I will always try to help as many horses as I can for you ❤️

I have blanked out his name for his privacy , but here is just another example of somebody expecting me to just blatantly disregard the welfare of the horse, and the duty of care I have to their horse , so that they can cheap out and only get their horses feet trimmed every 8 months
Well with that attitude mate , don't let the door hit you on your way out 😉

Hi guys
Unfortunately I have to put in place a requirement that people pay on the day UNLESS we have pre - arranged and agreed on a date that you will pay for your trims later ! And late payments will incur a $20 late fee and I may require repeat offenders to pre pay in future
Everyone knows I don't mind if you need to pay later I'd much rather the horses get what they need and you don't get too behind on your horses feet but we need to pre arrange a set date for when the payment will be made at the time of the appointment!
Thanks :)

Hopefully this little pony will be feeling much lighter after these huge lengths of overgrown hoof were removed

This is the last post I'm going to write about this , as I've now got people sending me angry messages about this.

1. If you want me to be your barefoot trimmer then you have to stick to a 6-8 week trim cycle , if you don't keep up with this then you'll need to find a new trimmer.
2. I have a cancellation policy now - if I'm cancelled on at or before 24 hours notice, I'll need you to pre pay up front before any future appointments - or find another trimmer.

If you're not happy with these terms please find another trimmer.
