Direct K9 Services uses a balanced approach to training to ensure a strong bond is built between you and your dog. Our methods, which are centered around instilling confidence and leadership in the relationship, can be viewed as best practice and has proven successful in building well-behaved and relaxed dogs. I have had over 10-years of experience in training professional service canines for vari

ous roles and have worked with many different agencies. To add to my experience, I have also completed a Certificate III in dog training and behavior with the National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF). To ensure that our practiced methods are both current and in line with industry standards and expectations, I am constantly adding to my knowledge base by studying various sources and dog experts, both Australia-wide and internationally. Direct K9 Services are available 7 days a week (including after hours) and throughout the Melbourne Metropolitan area, the Mornington Peninsular, Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong. Also Canberra ACT and surrounding NSW areas;

If you are interested in one of our Direct K9 Services, simply follow the steps below to build a gateway to success for you and your dog:

Step 1. A trainer will contact you for a phone consultation and conduct a preliminary evaluation specific to your dog’s personal environment and circumstances. If you decide our services are for you, an appointment that fits your schedule will be made. A trainer will attend your home or location of choice, conduct as assessment of your dog and its behaviors, and provide an individualized and tailored training plan; this plan includes phone and email support afterwards. Step 3. If further consultation is required, a trainer will revisit and work with both you and your dog until the behavior is corrected.

Who doesn't love a Schnauzer! These two were so polite and well adjusted. We don't get to see this all that often. The female on the left was on the scene first and was well socialised and trained. She provided a great role model for Angus (on the right) who has mirrored a lot of that temperament. It reinforced for me that if you are having problems with your dog or puppy, try to wait to get another one until you have the behaviours sorted, otherwise you will likely end up with two sets of issues which can be much harder to resolve. ❤️

At Direct K9 we love working with puppies! This is Royce, a 12 week old German Shepherd, full of beans but a bit shy. We worked on building his confidence and prioritised socialisation for the remainder of that critical period. We also helped to redirect from play biting with the kids! 😊. We are passionate about the puppy development right from 8 weeks as we know it is one of the keys to a balanced happy dog

Interesting clip on chicken and chicken bones. This reflects my experience with these small bone raw meals to be compatible with dog health. Of course it always depends on the size of your dog etc. One thing I would add is that if you are coming off a dry diet, start slow and small so that the gut can adapt. Then keep a regular enough raw food routine so that your dog can maintain this gut bacteria and tolerance. Master Of Puppies
