Here is a video where Michael is working with Chloe specifically to ensure that she understands the rules about when she has high value resources. In cases where there has been a history of, or potential of Resource Guarding we like to make sure that we are able to give the dog clarity.
By training an "out" command, it means we can ensure that Chloe understands that I will be taking something off her - this is a useful skill for dogs that Resource Guard as it means they are prepared for us taking something out of their mouths, rather than us just shoving our hands in their personal space when they aren't expecting it.
Unfortunate situations happen all the time where the dogs are able to scavenge something they shouldn't have so we need to ensure that we have the control, which reduces the possibility of a bite occurring.
Chloe is avaliable for adoptions through Pyrenees Animal Rescue

Sorry this is so delayed, we have been super busy, but here is Morty's final training day video.
Please enjoy!
We have loved helping Morty, if you would like help with your reactive dog, please contact us.
Super exciting changes coming!!!
We are remodelling our Daycare.
We have decided to remove the walls between all of our smaller pens to make one GIANT pen. This means more space for the dogs to stretch their legs.
The current main pen will now be used for those lower energy dogs that would much rather pondering around and laying down in the company of other dogs.
As a little preview here is Michael's dogs testing out the new space.
We will endeavour to open this pen within the next few weeks in time for our open night. Before we do open it, we are working on decorating and adding some special equipment for extra enrichment.
If you would like to check out the new pen when it's opened, head down to our open night on Saturday the 13th of May, 7pm-8pm.
We are so excited!!!!
Star dog of the week!
This week we have had Morty, a 1-2yo Australian Cattle Dog who was recently rescued by one of our amazing clients. Morty had shown some serious behavioural concerns, like reactivity/aggression towards other dogs, barking issues, jumping and bite/nipping.
Our Head Trainer Michael has been putting him through his paces, teaching him engagement, obedience positions, how to walk nicely on a lead and to not lunge/react towards other dogs. He still has a ways to go but we are LOVING watching him progress and turn into a polite sociable dog.
If you have a dog with reactivity problems, make sure you reach out as we can help with our Day Board and Train program.
We are all so stoked with the progress from these guys!!!
Training with Jack Jack, with our head trainer Michael.
Don't forget we offer slat mill sessions, on top of daycare, for added enrichment & fulfilment!

Hi All!
Michael, the head dog trainer here ๐๐๐
I thought I would give you all some insight into how we manage dogs playing! These are some of my personal dogs at home.
Playing with other dogs is one of the most important things for a pup to learn. As dogs are one of the only animals that use play for the entirety of their life, itโs extremely vital for them to play with other dogs when they are young puppies.
Does this mean they should play with every dog they meet? Absolutely not. Dogs in society need to develop neutrality seeing other dogs. However, puppies that have received the appropriate amount of play with other dogs when puppies are much less likely to exhibit reactive or aggressive behaviours later in life.
Through play, puppies learn all about dominance and submission, play face, play bows. It helps build confidence and also teaches puppies how to problem solve and most importantly about pack dynamics.
An aspect I teach all dogs, is how to end play on my command. This makes it much easier for me to regulate play, and ensure it never gets out of hand.
River, my Dane pup, isnโt at the point where I expect this of her, but here I am getting her used to the other dogs being called away from, and her not being rude by chasing them and taking cheap shots.
Having your dogs enrolled in Daycare with us, means that we will actively be doing this with all dogs! This means they get the enjoyment of playing with other dogs, whilst also being taught how to control their arousal levels, and keeping it safe for everyone involed.
We have plenty of spots open still over the next two weeks, so if you want your dog to have some controlled exposure, book in and take advantage of our 20% off single day bookings!!!
