Mad dog lady right here 🙋♀️
As it’s a new year & there are lots of things planned for 2024 I thought I would introduce myself again and how House of Woof started.
I’m Brittany, the founder & owner of House of Woof. I was 3 years old when I got my first family dog Otis - named after my favourite film growing up, Otis & Milo. It was love a first sight (not that I would remember) but I know for a fact it was because dogs have always had a special place in my heart.
I work for a non-profit on the days I’m not being my own boss (which I truly love) but, I dream of the day I can fulfill this journey full time.
I went backpacking to a number of different countries to escape the 9-5 throughout my 20s, and would save up and then leave again ✈️
But, I always knew I wanted to do more with life and one day start a business. Only problem was I didn’t know where to even start.
So one day in lockdown in 2021, standing on a platform waiting for a train, I thought surely there has to be something more to my life than it feeling constantly like groundhog day. I got home that night with the thought ‘f**k it I’m starting a business’
Sitting on the couch with my friend watching Ginny & Georgia, the name House of Woof was born that night. (Shoutout to my friend who wanted to call it hot dawgz 😳)
With my Boston Terrier, Frankie, getting called a Frenchie every other day of her life (don’t even get me started), I knew I had to showcase more dog breeds to spread the love.
Since then, I have lived and breathed the business. It’s constant hard work and some days I think why did I do this to myself but, if it was easy then everyone would do it.
With this all being said, THANK YOU to the ones who have been with me since day 1 and the ones who just discovered my baby House of Woof.
(2nd baby - Frankie will always be my number uno ❤️)
