Autumn in Melbourne is the perfect time to have a cat enclosure installed. Drilling lots of holes into bricks is hard work and means lots of ladder climbing for this 69 year old partner of mine.

Balconies make great cat enclosures. The kitties can sit out on the sun and look out over the neighbourhood with their human family members. They love it!

This job was in Burwood. The owners corporation would only allow 3/4 of the balcony enclosed. At the enclosure end, there were two electric sun blinds. We had to maintain access for servicing of the blinds, so we installed the cat netting below the blinds boxes. Steel fence mesh was installed around the privacy panel at the side of the balcony to stop the young kitten escaping next door through the gaps. Stainless steel wire cables were installed below the bottom of the glass balustrade to ensure the cat can’t escape through those gaps. A zipper gate allows Michelle to get to the other end of the balcony with ease. The netting installed to the opening of the balcony is neat and see-through. From the street it can hardly be seen.

A recent small backyard enclosure ensures that the precious kitties at this home are kept safe and secure in the yard. One of the cats escaped over the fence recently, crossed a busy main road and was luckily found unharmed (thanks to a tracking device its owner had fitted to it). Don’t risk your cats life. Keep it secure in your backyard with a netted cat enclosure. Side walkways, verandahs, balconies and whole backyards can usually be made safe in some way. See examples of enclosures on our websites:

Swati and Jay are return clients. We created a long, tall and wide enclosure at the side of their house 2 years ago. They now wanted the enclosure to extend around into their small backyard which would include their patio. Their gorgeous cats can now wander all around the back and side yard, can climb up on the garden shed and can see out through the bird wire fence and gate down the driveway i onto the street.

The fences surrounding this deck area are old and unsteady, so we created an enclosure of the deck by installing posts across one side of it. We then added a roof net and wall nets around the whole deck area. Zipper gates at the two sides of the deck allow humans to enter and exit with ease.

Don’t want your whole yard enclosed in netting, and don’t have any trees or other tall objects near your fences, then you can choose to have a fence containment system installed instead. Black steel angled fence extension brackets are installed to the fence posts or fence rails, 3 strands of stainless steel wire rope is threaded across the top of the fence, at the bend in the brackets and across the top of the brackets, then cat netting is attached to the wire cables using hundreds if not thousands of tiny stainless steel c-clips, using a compressor and air-gun. It’s time-consuming work but gives a great result.

Another side yard enclosure. This time to keep a cat, and a small dog, safely inside their yard. Paw Guard mesh was added to the two net walls/zipper gates to stop any possible damage caused if the dog scratches on it. We do FREE on-site quotes. Book in via our website www.KatHavensByKaren.com

Live in an apartment with a cat and don’t want it leaping or falling off the balcony? Have your balcony enclosed in cat netting like our client in Richmond did today. It’s barely visible from the street and very see-through from on the balcony. Most owners corporations and property managers are now allowing cat netting of balconies as they understand many residents have cats and cats need and like fresh air, sunshine and love looking out over the world.

An architect busy at work as a cat haven creator. Here Des is drilling new holes into steel angled fence extension brackets. A string-line along the fence marks the line where the bottom of the brackets will go, to keep it all straight and looking architecturally pleasing. 😊⭐️
