* We have been using these kits for well over 12 months now and have proven extremely reliable. The reflector units are made in the same factory as a market leading brand, they just don’t have the branding.

If you are considering breeding your dragons this coming season please read this. Unfortunately there are too many people out there who do not realise how much is involved with breeding bearded dragons.
As usual there will be many out there assuming I’m trying to discourage “competition” not at all, Just make sure you understand the risks and effort required

Anyone that owns a bearded dragon knows how easy they are to love. They have a ton of personality and are one of the best pet reptiles available. They are also growing in popularity. Everyone knows someone with a pet bearded dragon. When you see how easy they are to love and how many people would love to have a bearded dragon, it may seem like a good idea to breed your beardies. It is important to know that breeding bearded dragons is not for everyone.

Breeding bearded dragons is quite expensive and there typically isn’t much room for profit or any at all. Most people who breed do not typically make back all of the money that they put into the babies by the time they are sold. Baby bearded dragons eat an insane amount of live bugs. You need to provide a large quantity of a variety of bugs for each baby. You also need to have adequate space and lighting setups for the baby dragons. When baby bearded dragons get crowded, they begin to fight and hurt each other. These fights can lead to missing limbs or even death. You also need to consider the fact that you could have up to 30 baby dragons per clutch. You will need to raise these babies for at least a month before it is considered safe to let them go to their new homes. By this stage when they are ready to go, a new clutch will be hatching or already hatched. If you don’t feel as though you have the space or money for multiple different set ups as well as a large amount of feeder bugs, it is best that you do not breed your bearded dragons. As a rough guide you should have at least 4-5 full sized full setups ready to go to have any chance of housing the babies safely and that’s assuming you will find all of them homes fairly quickly.

It is important to consider who would be interested in purchasing a bearded dragon if you do breed them. A lot of new breeders will have a clutch of dragons only to find out that they have nobody that wants to buy them if any at all. It is easy to get stuck with a whole clutch of dragons and no new forever homes for them. This is especially true when you don’t have any special morphs that are in high demand. (Even morphs are harder to sell these days) It can be very hard to offload a clutch of normal looking bearded dragons. (Pet shops may pay $50 at best, in which case you’re definitely losing money) Most people want the ones with amazing colors and unique patterns. It is also important to know the exact genetics of your dragons if you do want to breed them. Breeding the wrong traits together can cause birth defects and lifelong issues for the baby dragons. Breeding healthy dragons that will live a long and comfortable life is extremely important. Breeding genetically poor dragons is not only irresponsible but can ruin your reputation if you plan on breeding again in the future.

Do you know enough about babies to answer all your customers questions? They will be relying on you to help them out as they are most likely beginners. Giving out the wrong info could be fatal to the babies!

Unfortunately many new breeders out there just jump in without knowing what they are in for thinking they can make a few quick $$$ and the babies suffer and end up in pet stores. Experienced breeders aren’t discouraging others to stop competition, they are generally wanting you to know how difficult it can be. One dragon can have over 100 babies from just one mating across multiple clutches. They all need to be housed and fed, if you held onto them for 1-2 months they will likely cost you more than you sell them for.

Please, please think about why you are wanting to breed, if it’s for money then I can honestly say the chances of succeeding are very slim.

At the risk of spamming our followers we wanted to give an update!
Our dragons have been down for a good brumation this winter, some have already woken up and haven’t lost any conditioning at all. We’ve been deep in thought deciding what pairings we will have this season and things look exciting.

*We will once again have Hypo Zeros in both leatherback and normal scale from Harley our Paradox producing Hypo Trans Zero.

*One of our bright red Trans het Witblits will be paired with a red het Trans Witblit so we are hoping for some “Red Phase Witblits and red near patternless Trans dragons.

*One of our bright het Trans het Witblits will be paired with our dark red phase normal for some nice reds het Trans.

*We have a het Trans het Witblits Bluebar pairing which should produce some striking Witblits and Bluebar babies as well. Our Witblits will only be paired Het to Het to guarantee strong offspring as this is a newer morph and in our opinion should not be bred Visual to Het at this early stage.

It’s our aim to produce the healthiest and most affordable babies in the above phases and morphs this season.

The above pairings are not set in stone bit if you are interested in what we are planning please give this post a like or leave a comment. I will start a waitlist once we know pairings are successful.

As usual we will offer free after support to all customers as well as access to our comprehensive website.

****YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED****
Hi everyone,
Ive been fielding many questions from many people that are starting out from scratch so it got me thinking how I could help these people out better than I currently do? I decided on an idea to make a simple flow chart, it’s just the beginning so as usual I would like some input from as many people as I can regarding how simple it would be to follow if you had something like this in the beginning. Design wise it’s a work in progress so not really after input on that aspect.
All constructive input is most welcome.

Our quick start flow chart will help you from the moment youre considering adopting a new baby bearded dragon
