I place a high value on open communication. Anyone who has purchased a bird from me will confirm that I stay in touch from the moment you pay your deposit until the day your bird is ready to come home. I provide regular updates and photos, ensuring you’re kept informed every step of the way. Even when things don’t go exactly to plan, I make it a priority to keep everyone in the loop. This process takes significant time out of my busy day—time I am not compensated for.

To then be completely ignored when the bird is ready to go home is incredibly disappointing.

Whether your circumstances have changed, you’ve had a change of heart, or finances are tight, all I ask for is honest communication. If you reach out, we can work through it together. Silence, however, helps no one.

Rant over! On a more positive note, this little guy is ready for his new home through no fault of his own.

The babies spent the afternoon in the aviary, have a look at what they got up to. 👀

🌿An aviary provides your parrot with ample space to exercise, explore, and engage in natural behaviours like flying and foraging.

This increased freedom encourages physical fitness and mental stimulation, reducing stress and undesirable behaviour.👌

🌤Exposure to fresh air and sunlight in an aviary also supports your parrot’s overall health, making for a happier and more contented companion.

🪶Creating a Safe, Engaging Environment for Non-Flighted Birds🪶

✅️Although we advocate for keeping birds fully flighted, we understand that some birds may be purchased already clipped, sometimes without the buyer's knowledge, or may have a medical condition that prevents flight. For these situations, it's essential to create a safe, enriching environment that supports independence and exercise for the bird, even without full flight capabilities.

Here are some ways to help non flighted birds stay safe and active:👇

🤲Cushion Their Space: Birds may still attempt to take off even if they can’t fly well, so having padded surfaces can help prevent injuries. Consider adding blankets, rugs, or foam mats around areas where your bird spends time, as these provide a softer landing in case of unexpected attempts to take flight.

🪜Make the Environment Accessible: Encourage your bird’s exploration by creating pathways they can navigate independently. Utalise Sisal ropes, ladders, and various perches at different heights and locations. This setup allows the bird to move around without relying on human assistance, helping them develop confidence and stay active.

🕸Provide Climbing Opportunities: Climbing is a fantastic way for non flighted birds to engage in physical activity. Sisal Ropes, sisal boings, or even climbing nets can add variety to their daily exercise. This not only keeps their muscles active but also promotes mental stimulation as they explore.

🌿Use Foraging and Enrichment Activities: Keep your bird’s environment stimulating by offering foraging activities that encourage problem-solving and movement. Foraging toys and shreddable items can turn mealtime into a fun, interactive experience, supporting both mental and physical well being.
