My name is Megan Hanel
I have been working with and caring for animals for 6 years in my high schools Working with Animals program and have gained a wide range of experience with Reptiles, Fish, Birds, Rodents, Stock animals and more.
I have a beautiful Murray River Retriever named Bella and a pet Quacker named Ben, they are both very cheeky.

Caring for animals is a strong passion of mine and I am looking forward to starting my Emmett adventure and helping as many animals as I can!

TC is very proud of our student Megan, who has recently completed her practitioner training in Emmett Therapy for Animals. Emmett is a light touch muscle therapy, that can be used alongside veterinary care. Some of the symptoms that can be relieved with Emmett therapy are muscle injury or pain, unbalanced gait, behavioural changes, lead or harness strain and inhibited movement. Megan had to complete 80 hours of training over the course of a year, and is now qualified to treat a wide range of animals, including dogs. Megan has used her training to provide therapy to some of our own animals at TC, including sheep and rabbits. Megan has really enjoyed her training, and says that her favourite part “has been seeing how applying such a small amount of pressure can entirely change an animals ability to move.” We look forward to seeing her progress with her venture in Emmett therapy.
